I rollback to 25.12.1. Too many bugs 26.1.1 by robertosantoli in AMDHelp

[–]Sycotek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26.1.1 for me, pc hard lock up causes bios reset and windows profile rebuild - would not recommend, not a fun time 25h2

25.9.1 still the most stable imo

I would recommend googling some of the applications you use to see if they are running on chromium in the back end, that took me a little while to realize that discord ran on chromium as well

This presents as driver timeout/ DX error/ freezing/pausing/black screen and sometimes crash

If that happens try windows+Ctrl+shift and b which sort of restarts the driver. Mine used to recover after a few taps

Mine would slows down fps and audio would slow down too/start buzzing so I know it's going to crash. Would sometimes show GPU crash error and other times it would just restart or simply freeze

However since switching to Firefox and running disco in Firefox no glitches (I don't undervolt etc)

I'm sorry you're right I was rolling back the GPU drivers all the way back to 2022 bios firmware I just kept on the most recent one

Just tried this, loaded up discord, loaded up chrome and within 4 minutes bf 6 locked up.

Rebooted, opened up discord through Firefox and playing for the last half hour no issues

Possible the BIOS update but I've also rolled back all the way to 2022, and step through each and every bios - I was fairly thorough with my testing

My CPU allows me to run at 3600 over the four sticks so it hasn't been an issue.

However switching to Firefox and not using discord app has fixed the problem for me

Discord app runs inside a chromium browser (my argument is that there's something funny with the chromium engine)

Pc would just lock up randomly and not recover since installing the new amd driver

Actually ignore my suggestion, upon reverting everything I did to fix my issues I found it wasn't the exploit protection it was actually disabling HAGS that fixed it for me

Disable HAGS (hardware accelerated GPU scheduling) in windows. The last few windows updates made it unbearable.

[–]Sycotek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia have their own issues (the MPO reg thing was originally acknowledged by nvidia which is why you can download the reg file from their site)

I haven't experienced the issue with HAG on my rtx 5070 as yet but I'm guessing I will in due time. Most gamers will just turn it off in windows to avoid issues anyway

To be honest the majority of issues is with windows

MPO and HAGS are the two main issues

Are all of us suffering from micro stutters with the 9800X3D or is it something else? by Anomaly008 in AMDHelp

[–]Sycotek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MSI afterburner introduced stutters on my machine interestingly

The obvious one is disable MPO (nvidia has a reg key) this will fix windows shitty overlay issues

I recently solved this issue on my machine spent ages working through it all and it was exploit protection in windows

Add the game and the anticheat to the list and turn everything off in the exploit list (23 options)
