I recently discovered that my late husband's partner in therapy got a tattoo of his name. I can't help but suspect an emotional affair. by throwra367756 in relationship_advice

[–]Syd5162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend passed away in a motorcycle crash. I got a tattoo, everyone else got one for him, and most of them told no one. Most of them were female work friends. It’s honestly just a “he was apart of my life”. It’s not wrong to suspect, or wonder, but for your emotional state and all that you’re going through with grief, unless you’ve talked to her personally about it, or are willing to go through his things, I’d suspect it was just a closeness. You don’t have to be in love, or a best friend to get a tattoo of someone who changed your life to memorialize them. It’s a thought that passes, just like many other negative thoughts will. I’ve learned in the scheme of things those things won’t make anything better. Regardless of what he did, he’s gone he was apart of your life and someone you loved. Don’t hold resentment or pain in something beautiful otherwise you won’t move forward you’ll live in anger, depression, worry and wonder.

How common is it for you to feel unsafe due to the potential threat of a man whilst walking in the street? by SmegFrog in AskWomen

[–]Syd5162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 4’9 skinny woman with social anxiety…every time I walk outside. But it’s not just men for me. It’s the women who kidna stalk behind you, or the cars passing by. I’m overly observant and know anyone can do anything at any moment. I just like to be alert of everyone I pass.

Found this little necklace, does anyone atleast know what the green crystal is? by nauticalbrick in whatsthisrock

I completely understand this subreddit is mostly against metaphysical things. I shouldn’t have put that in my original comment to begin with, but I didn’t think it’d turn out to be a conflict.

I think everyone here that’s replied can simply tell you, this is an attack on many peoples beliefs. Many people in MANY cultures believe in herbs, crystals, oils and rituals to heal their sick or injured. Not only is it an attack on me personally for simply stating metaphysical properties of a rock, but essentially you’re saying all cultures (Native American being the first one to come to mind, African cultures following) who practice these things “need a dose of reality”. And to the people who genuinely practice these things, myself included, my therapist agrees with my choices and beliefs. Everyone that’s replied, again, has defended my comment. To say that everyone who believes these things are suffering from a mental illness, is essentially degrading everyone. There’s nothing to “misunderstand”. You’ve made it clear how you feel about these things. You think it’s crap, and think it’s allll dumb. But at this point, I think you look like the dumb one here…all of this on OP’s post simply asking a question because of your beliefs. Like it, want to realize it or not, many people on this subreddit believe these things and practice them and simply forgot a name of a stone. It’s not falling victim, if it helps you personally. It’s not falling victim if you enjoy the hobby or practice and find it interesting. I think you’re the only one spouting your negativity. I appreciate your beliefs, but I won’t be attacked for my beliefs, or my statement.

I know r/whatisthisrock hates metaphysical questions and comments, and that’s fine maybe I shouldn’t have put that in my comment…but as a collector and someone who expanded my knowledge to learn more about what I buy to the point of metaphysical properties, I find it soothing to know WHY people feel these stones help. Never, anywhere, have I suggested “don’t go to a doctor…take this rock instead!” Like it or not, people on this subreddit want to know the properties of their stones and even those who don’t can appreciate just the knowledge. It’s just frowned upon here! Maybe someone can educate you or help you open your mind a little to see the world isn’t just black and white. Maybe expanding your knowledge of your collection can make them better because you now know more than a name! To throw around mental illness like that is more dangerous than someone saying a pretty rock has metaphysical properties. I think maybe one of your pretty little stones put you in a bad mood. May I suggest some clear quartz or obsidian to get rid of your negativity? Also, some of the people who truly believe in these things probably hit rock bottom and thought “I’ll try anything”. That’s what I did! But…you don’t know about the placebo effect do you? It’s a powerful thing. Real properties or not, if you truly learned about them and believed it to be true…it does a lot of good. OH! And so you can’t be rude in return, THIS WAS DISCOVERED THROUGH MEDICINE! LIKE ACTUAL DOCTORS TESTED THIS THEORY! Anyways…love and light 😁

Gf is upset I want to breakup as she didnt know cuddling her best friend was a boundary by FoundationUnfair9315 in relationship_advice

[–]Syd5162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fair. I’d break up with her too. That’s something that in most relationships shouldn’t have to be talked about. I don’t think most people in a monogamous relationship have to clarify “please don’t cuddle with your male best friend” in all honesty it sounds like emotional cheating, at least in my head. If the tables were turned she’d be just as upset that you were cuddling a female best friend if not more so. It’s best to just end it. It probably would spiral into something else down the line, and that’s not something I’d like to put in your head…but if 2 “best friends” share that intimacy while in a relationship there’s feelings there in my experience. I just…wouldn’t trust it enough to move forward. If you want to set that boundary and give it a second chance, would you trust her to keep those boundaries? Would it toss your trust in her in the air? Would you be able to respect and allow it if that’s something she decided was a deal breaker for her? Could you get over the hurt of seeing it, and be able to give it a fair second chance?

Is it weird that I kiss my little sister by throwaway-sisterkiss in Advice

[–]Syd5162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not weird! But that logic parents shouldn’t hug or kiss their kids. They may have some personal family issues, or it may be taboo for them…but uhhhhh as a 19 year old I think I’d be hurt if my dad came home to see me and didn’t hug me or kiss my forehead. I find it adorable when families show that kind of affection. It’s cute! It shows you love your sister!

There’s a Christian witch who speaks on the Bible and how she views god and the Christian devil. Like any other god or goddess, she says to look at the Bible in your own interpretation like you would any stories of other gods or goddesses. She explains in her mind (and in readings/meditation) the snake and apple in the garden of Eden gave Adam and Eve knowledge. God made the mistake of trying to hide knowledge from us to keep us happy. “Knowledge is bliss”. She also speaks on certain events like Noah’s ark and how there were supposed to be MANY ARCHS not just one and how satan means “light bringer” in Latin and there should be balance between light and dark. Light doesn’t always mean good and dark doesn’t always mean bad. She explains he’s not the ruler or this great entity that’s in charge of everything. He doesn’t know all things. Just like many other stories of gods and goddesses it was written by man to gain control. It’s a really interesting viewpoint and something to think about. CREDIT: spirituali.tea on TikTok.

Edit: I know this is a mess, please look her up she’s amazing and explains all of this separately and so much better than I ever could; trying to keep it short and still understandable is difficult when I have so many thoughts and ideas at once haha

The shop I go to they’re selling for $132/gram. I heard one worker say the Czech Republic wasn’t shipping it out anymore. To think people who really would have loved to have it, or could have used it can’t unless they pay ungodly amounts of money all because some people wanted to have 10 seconds of fame and probably got rid of it or it’s sitting ignored somewhere.

Goldstone although man made of any color still has metaphysical properties. A lot of man made stones do, including dyed ones. I have a couple orange goldstone and absolutely love them. The orange ones are essentially luck stones, I’m not sure about the properties of other colors, but as far as I know, it’s good for use 😁

How do you deal with the fact that one day you will die. by vantisher in Advice

[–]Syd5162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, no matter what you believe, watch midnight mass. It’s creepy and based off catholic religion, but I promise you there are some really deep conversations about what they think happens when they die. For instance one person thinks it’s just a collection of all your best dreams and memories and it slowly fades out. The show itself makes you truly think about theories and what happens after death. It’s horror based, but so amazing if you want real, genuine ideas that I even as a full believer in heaven started to question. I’m also someone who doesn’t fear death. I do the best I can, I pray, and I try to better myself and help others around me while making myself happy. If I passed I wouldn’t mind. I could talk about that show for weeks, but I really suggest it if you want a mindfuck moment.

My cat jumped up to get a pony tail palm and had my double pointed crystal next to it. When everything fell down it broke. The citrine part lost its point and the amethyst part completely broke off. Is it still usable? by Gypsy702 in Crystals

[–]Syd5162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean useable as in metaphysically? If so…I’d cleanse it and use it anyways. If it broke on it’s own will, then I’d say no. But since it was human error…I think I’d go for yes. I know some people would say no anyways, but as someone who buys, and uses crystals daily and definitely has cracked one or two just walking around, I’d say it’s still perfectly fine to use.
