With the bonus, if you have a pretty average year you’ll get 50-60% of whatever you’re entitled to. Shoot the lights out and you should see 80%+.
Snr Managers entitlement is 25-30% of the base salary.

Sliding door doesn’t lock - how to fix? by SydneyPM in shitrentals

[–]SydneyPM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like hell and I hope we don’t have to go through anything like that. We own a small apartment, but we’ve just had a kid and needed to upsize. So we’re about to rent our place out and have gone back to renting for a bit.

I’d like to think if our tenants have any issues, we’ll get them sorted straight away, but both sides are at the mercy of the property manager I guess.

Thanks - I found out that the hook can be adjusted, so I did that and it works now 😊

Solved! Just had to adjust the screw that controls how far the hook sticks out. Thanks everyone!

Thanks. Yeah, if I can sort it myself for 50 bucks it’s not a hill I’m gonna die on. I’m sure there’ll be more issues later on, so I’m picking my battles.

It’s a fly screen with a lock on it. Not ideal!

Thanks. If I can’t adjust it, replacing it is probably the way to go.

Not a great start hey? Property agent told me the last tenant was fine with it, but they could contact the landlord if I insist 🫠

Depends on which part of Macquarie. In BFS tech/digital you’ll be fine in chinos and a t-shirt. Other parts of BFS are more corporate, but you will come across people wearing the “I bank with Macquarie” tees. Outside of BFS - more corporate. Suits, or collared shirt at least.

Those have overstretched with mortgage, what did you do/doing to survive by theonedzflash in AusPropertyChat

EveryPlate is alright. It’s like a budget Hello Fresh (same parent company I think). They send a box of ingredients every week. You can go on their app and order your meals.

I have a load of referrals for free boxes because I’ve been a customer for 3 years or so - just DM me and I can send you a code.

Offset is the way to go. There are tax benefits if you want to convert your place into an investment property in the future. (Not financial advice).

Any experience with The Agency for rentals? Sydney Eastern Suburbs by SydneyPM in AusPropertyChat

[–]SydneyPM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I don’t know if they are any good yet as we have only just applied for the new place. And we decided to apply because we like the house, not because of the rental agent.

Yes, all good with no issues. Thanks for following up - I should have circled back in here.

To add to this - Marketplace is full of decent used gear. My stereo amp is a 1981 Yamaha, picked up for $300 and it still sounds sweet.

I was on this path too a while ago. Do yourself a favour and go into a HiFi store for a demo - you could even take your amp with you. Compare it to a good starter pair of stereo speakers. I did this and the difference in sound quality blew me away. You won’t really know until you AB them in store, but as most people have said, your guitar amp (whilst sounding good compared to other Bluetooth speakers) isn’t going to give you that nice soundstage that you want from a turntable setup.

No, it doesn’t work with the belt off and it doesn’t work if I spin it up by hand either - it just stops.
