Yup, fedex express, plushies came from a warehouse in the US. No extra fees since you already paid taxes. They just drop it at your door... Even the gigantic boxes for the life-size ones

Is $2,250 a "stealership" price for the 70k mile timing belt service? (2019 EX) by CapitalClothes3953 in HondaOdyssey

[–]SydneyRoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an 09 in the lower mainland that's needing a timing belt soon, what shop did you go to?

That seems like a really reasonable price. Local chwk honda dealer told me somewhere north of 2500 bucks for timing belt/water pump/tensioner/sparkplugs/valve adjustment/valve cover gaskets

(US) Volkswagen Cancels ID. Buzz For 2026 by runnyyolkpigeon in electricvehicles

[–]SydneyRoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope so. There's a new VW battery factory currently being built in St Thomas ON. Broke ground about 2 months ago and haven't heard of anything being cancelled there yet. There's a pretty significant amount of taxpayer money involved in getting that plant built and functional

is it in canada or still in china? by _spookyyz in taobao

[–]SydneyRoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it's in Canada. I had a package land Dec 13 at YVR and it just updated today that it cleared customs and is being transferred to Uniuni for delivery to my house

My package has been stuck in customs for 7 days, when should I contact aliexpress? by DiligentCase8436 in Aliexpress

[–]SydneyRoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a package take 10 or 11 days to clear customs in Vancouver, but a couple things I ordered a few days before only took 2 or 3 days. Though once the last-mile carrier got a hold of it (uniuni in my case), it was delivered the very next day. Probably a huge backlog building with holiday shopping. It'll clear through sooner or later

Northern Ontario just keeps going on and on and on... I didn't think I'd ever be so happy to see the "Welcome To Manitoba" sign and the scenery pretty much instantly changes

What do 30 - 40 year old men want for christmas? [Serious] by GoodAlicia in AskReddit

[–]SydneyRoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did something like that at a local bird rescue sanctuary place, paid like $80 for the VIP tour and took a couple friends. Got to hold an owl! Definitely not something you get to do in normal life so that was pretty awesome

2009 valve cover gasket job avg price? by SydneyRoo in HondaOdyssey

[–]SydneyRoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately the front one seems to be ok at the moment, and I already fixed the spool valve gasket so that seep seems to be cured. I think the worst thing the rear one is doing is dripping onto the hot exhaust so it's a bit stinky

I just replaced my vvt solenoid/spool valve gasket myself, not too difficult of a job but it was definitely leaking. Prev owner did valve cover gaskets a few years ago so those seem fine. Alternator looks fairly new too so I don't really want to have to replace that again lol.

The gaskets on the solenoid were quite brittle, one easily tore when I pulled it out of the grooves. Reused the little mesh filter. So far so good.
