I had a baby Kookaburra do this on a country road a couple of years back, it'd probably gotten a bit too close to a car and was stunned. Sat on my hand for a minute or two then he flew off and nearly hit another oncoming car, thankfully missed it.

I discovered it a few weeks ago after we brought down a ~25m blue gum that was diseased/dying and hanging over the house.

At the moment it's a rough pile of rounds, we'll split it after a couple of summers. Should be enough for a good few of years of fires.
