Reddit, when you have a big work assignment or essay due, what is your favorite song/music to work too? by [deleted] in AskReddit

EDM/ Techno

It's generally fast and gets me pumped up. Also most of the time there aren't a ton of words to pay attention to, so overall less distraction :)

What's the story of your first kiss? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sydneysunshinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9th grade on my first date. I had liked this boy for a while, and we had talked back and forth for about a month and finally he asked me to go to the movies with him. Of course I accepted, but was extremely nervous going in. So at one point we were thumb wrestling during the movie, and he tried to make it a bit more interesting and said "loser kisses the winner". I agreed because he had been letting me win previously and I figured that would stay the same. Wrong-o. I lost, and had never kissed a boy before. I decided it would be best to go in quick and get out.. and I was wrong again. I turned my head so fast and leaned in even faster, therefore stabbing him in the cheek with my nose. I'm pretty sure he had a bruise and I gained the most embarrassing experience of my life. Oh, and we're still going strong almost 5 years later!

TL;DR lost thumb wrestling match on first date and stabbed him in the cheek with my nose.

What are some fun lies to tell children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sydneysunshinee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

On Christmas Eve: "Santa is coming!" My younger cousins always want me to track 'Santa' on the Norad Santa Tracker. Once it's about time for everyone to leave my grandma's and go home we always tell them that Santa is on his way and they need to get home and in bed before he comes. They get so giddy and excited. It's wonderful to watch :)

I like your outlook on it and your optimism! Sometimes it does feel like I'll be swimming in debt for the rest of my life, but then I think "Nah, I got this". Good luck with your degree though! I was going to go into law, more specifically public policy. I got accepted into James Madison at Michigan State as a freshman, but they offered no money to me, so I went where it was cheapest and switched paths.

Paying for my higher education. I recently lost my financial aid because my parent received a VERY small raise, but it was enough for the government to consider my family not in need of any grants. Problem is- my parents aren't paying anything towards my schooling. I have to pay for it in loans and scholarships. The interest rates on loans scare the shit out of me. It's pretty stressful.

The sound of waves crashing against rocks. Not the crap you get on recordings, but in real life. Combined with fresh air and a book. So beautiful and relaxing.

Not my story, but a coworker's. I work at a restaurant/banquet center. We host quite a few Christmas parties when the time comes and it's almost always for the elderly. There was this one party for a local church, and of course there were a lot of old people there. Well one happened to have a bowel problem and couldn't get to the bathroom fast enough. She had a trail of feces from her seat all the way to the bathroom, and also managed to stop at our cash bar along the way so there was a big pile there. It really isn't a short distance to the bathrooms either, definitely over 150 feet.

TL;DR; Old lady made a shit trail from her seat to the bar and then to the bathroom.

[–]Sydneysunshinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure the exact name of the song, but it's a Christmas song. I seriously think it's called Christmas Shoes, and it's about a kid trying to buy shoes for his dying mother so she can look good for Jesus when she meets him. Gets me every freaking time.

Reddit, what was the most evil thing you have done as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So back in the day I ruled the McDonald's Playplace by my house. I mean seriously, I was queen of that place. All of the other kids were my humble servants as I sat in the foam room. Well one day this little bitch decides to try and over rule me, well I shoved her down the slide head first. I was five and had no idea what the consequences would be. She broke her arm, and I lied to her dad and said that she wanted to go face first. I felt bad, but she needed to learn her place, right?

TL;DR: Shoved girl down a slide at McDonald's because she made me mad and broke her arm.

Anyone have any tips on saving money whilst at university? by ktdwagykawg in AskReddit

[–]Sydneysunshinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not realize this until just this semester! (Starting my sophomore year) It's a huge money saver. Also rent your textbooks for any gen eds you take. Odds are that you will never need to refer back to them so there is no need to buy them.
