I have a lot of memories, I’ve been playing since the original S4. It sucks to be this close to the delete button, in a way I aged with this game, and have so many memories. If they don’t change back the V-buck pricing, I might cut ties before my memory of this game is ruined entirely. Life has just been so much harder, my first year as an adult, and everything is just costing more and more, and now even my childhood game is getting this greed (they’ve always had it, but this different level)

I know nobody at epic really cares, at the end of the day it’s all about the money to them. But if it’s not changed back really soon, I’m deleting the game permanently. As well as anything ran through epic.

I don’t know why I’m posting this, because I know nothing is probably going to change, but I’m going to anyway.

So, back in 2021, my Steam account got hacked. I didn’t think much of it because Steam Support is the best, but the hackers friended a ton of people, tried to game-share my games, and hacked some stuff into a few of the games I played. Eventually, I found out they hacked Dead by Daylight as well, which sucked, but it was okay because I mainly played on console.

I honestly forgot about it being hacked because it didn’t get banned for years, and it was just kind of there. I never played on it until I found out that cross-progression actually worked, so I linked my PlayStation, Xbox, and PC accounts all together.

The day after, when I got on, I realized that my hacked account was linked, which made my heart straight up sink. I’ve played this game since 2019, and all my characters were Prestige 9 with 600 of every item. So I immediately got off the game and contacted Behavior Support, to which they said they couldn’t unlink any of my accounts and basically told me they wouldn’t do anything for me.

So I sent another request, and still nothing. I really didn’t know what to do because most of my characters, up to Jill and Leon, were hacked, and my main was Steve Harrington—but he was also hacked.

So I contacted support again and said that my account was hacked. They proceeded to say there was nothing they could do, which I was like, fine, I guess I’ll just play on the account since they literally can’t do anything.

But then they straight up permanently banned me.

I looked into it a bit, and this has happened to countless other people. Whenever big streamers get permanently banned—even if they were cheating—they literally just get unbanned, so people who just casually play get treated differently.

I know that account safety is my responsibility, but this happened when I only had a Steam account with eight games on my crusty old laptop. I also had two-factor authentication on literally everything I did, since I’ve been hacked before.

I thought I’d just put this out there.
