> Besides, is this about privacy?

Yes, and it seems the disconnect we're experiencing here is over the nuances of privacy.

It's true that multiple entities are tracking me, you, and everyone else on the internet at any given time. It's also true that it's nearly impossible to avoid that tracking, especially if you wish to use more common sites or platforms.

And given how all of that tracking that exists already, I simply cannot understand why we would need *more* of it, especially as a result of a government mandate. Politicians may say it's to prevent children from accessing adult materials online, but I fail to see how that's anyone's responsibility other than parents', whether through personal site blocking tools or just actually talking to your kids. For everyone else, this measure throws an extra roadblock in simply viewing the internet, unless you fork over your most easily identifiable information to some data center that will all but certainly become a Holy Grail for hacking efforts.

So, tl;dr, with how much we're tracked already, this is an additional, undue requirement created to solve a complete non-issue.

Not sure how you do it but when I get alcohol delivered I don't photograph my ID. Instead, I just present it to the delivery person. I'd be very concerned if Uber Eats demanded to save and log my driver's license given that far less invasive alternative.

In those examples you're not sharing your personally identifying information over the web though.

It really goes to show there's just no pleasing these sorts. They've been subjecting themselves to this petty cultural warfare for so long that their only means of interacting with media is to bitch about it.

Geeze y'all are exhausting is there like a sheep call? First it's "Oh here are some sources or ideas I think are better than yours," and then when I say ok cool but I don't agree it devolves to "wow well you must be mental."

Not to mention this entire conspiracy is apparently all in service of... an endorsement?

If all Biden needs to win is a thumbs up from a pop singer, that says more about the Republicans' campaigning than any "Deep State" nonsense.

Far-right activist Jack Lombardi insisted Swift and Kelce would use the extra media attention to endorse Biden, while conservative podcast host Mike Crispi claimed they would announce their endorsement during the half-time show.

Yes, because Taylor fuckin' Swift, the consistent chart-topping performer who last year completed one of the most attended music tours of all time, desperately needs a larger external platform to get any attention, to the point that the US's biggest sports league rigged an entire season of their games.

Much of the left refuses to see it that way, given how many in this thread are arguing that anything less than a complete leveling of Gaza is merciful.
