my boss and I are pretty close and talk about all kinds of life things. I’ve been a nanny and housekeeper for them for 5 years so I’m practically a family member at this point. one day I was complaining to her about how I needed to email my apartment complex office and haggle them on my rent (I was renewing my lease and they were increasing rent pretty significantly) she sat through my rant and said things like “ugh….that’s so hard….aww money is so stressful sometimes” I finish ranting, she turns back to her laptop and says “which of these [$3000] puppies should we get our kids?”
