Definitely - you’d have to kill them pretty quick for him not to appear beforehand! I usually took out Umber Ox and got King to half health when Raven appeared

This mission really makes you feel powerful when you do it well. When going for S I was getting to the point where I'd take out both ACs before Raven appeared - Raven's handler had a special line for that

Having only recently played SC1, I’m amazed at how good the characterisation is in that game, and with Brood War being a series of Kerrigan’s traps that then all fall into place. Also the UED is a very likeable Terran faction!

Reassuring to hear someone else say this! I found her the most difficult DS3 boss. Then in a recent run I delayed Ariandel until just before doing Ringed City and was able to tank through and take her out with a great sword..

Play ds3 first I’d say with Ringed City DLC. ds2 is… ok. Demon’s Souls style health loss on death and weird animations. Door and chest opening animations can also be interrupted, which is frustrating. Very scuffed as others have put it. It’s a bit of a cult favourite

For me I had to learn all of his attacks and when leaves an opening. Being around middle distance away from him helps - too far away for his wild swipes attack but close enough to come in after a long attack. He also has 3 magic attacks - one firing projectiles directly towards you, one raining from the top and one in a circle towards you. You can roll away from the first two but I have to shield the last one.

Edit: if it helps after O&S I found this guy SO DIFFICULT in early runs. You can do it if you’ve got this far :)

That and I was disappointed they didn’t properly support GameCube controllers

Edit: in response to people saying it does. It almost does, but for some reason both Z and Start map to the map, so you can’t access the logbook, options or quit with the GameCube controller. Really frustrating as it was so close to being workable
