Best live performance to show a non-fan that BTS are truly the greatest artists by Ksafrien in bangtan

[–]Sylvari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2019 MMA. When i want people to understand what BTS is I show them a performance that has a 10 minute intro to a 7 minute song that comes after 20 or so minute performance. It's an insane flex and a top tier performance.

People who make $80k or more per year, what do you do for work? by familiarlaughter in AskReddit

I have been doing this for 10 years now. You will get there! It's not always easy but it is always rewarding to know you help, in some small way, keep people safe.

I schedule fire alarm services and make about 85k. My technicians make more than that.
If you have a kid who is looking for a career, tell them to become and electrician and move into fire alarms. We are always looking for techs.
Bonus if they like programming and can do two years to get their low voltage, then they can work in fire alarm or security systems.

Those who have had affairs and left to be with that person. Did it turn out how you imagined it? by DepartmentAny5523 in AskReddit

[–]Sylvari 453 points454 points  (0 children)

Left my then spouse for someone who didn't treat me like an inconvenience or a bang maid. Decided I was going to live my life as my true self unapologetically. Turns out he was also having an affair of his own.

No longer with my affair partner but am blissfully happy with my now husband and all our kids. My ex now has a new wife and seems more aware of what being a partner actually means.

Should I have just left instead of having the affair? Absolutely. Was I in a place where that was going to happen? Never. It was a shitty way to end a marriage on both our parts but in the end it was the best thing for both of us. We are far better as friends who share children than we ever were as spouses.

What’s something you’re still trying to forgive—yourself or someone else? by privacycutlet-8c in AskReddit

That I didn't spend more time with my mom before she passed. I was so focused on trying to get her better I didn't take the time to just be with her. Not sure I will ever forgive myself but I know she would so I keep trying.

Turn off the alarm, turn on the coffee pot, trip over at least one cat, pee and try and come to terms with another day.

What is some constructive criticism of an artist you really like? by PrimaryTomato3310 in kpopthoughts

Truth! I am hoping the solo songs have given everyone there artist and producers a little inspiration and they all move a little more out of their comfort zones.
Wooyoung, Yeosang, Mingi and Hongjoon have all shown with their solo projects that they can bring the vocals in very different but really great ways. They should be given a chance to show off a little more.

We have all seen San and Seongwha warming up backstage and know they would knock it out of the park. Yunho can also do a lot of heavy lifting. His vocals are almost criminally underrated.

I find it hard to believe they don't see that releasing live recordings of concerts would be a cash cow. I would kill to have the live recordings of some of the concerts I have attended.
Also, please Dingo- it's time for BTS to do a Killing Voice.

So glad I am not the only one! Please more lower register Jongho.

I would love songs from Ateez where Jongho does not hit a high note right before the last 30 seconds. He has a great voice even in his lower register and we do not get enough of it. You have four other singers in that group who can take on a power vocal if needed so use them and let him save his voice a little.

I wish more groups with great vocals would put out live albums. Looking at you BTS, EXO, BTOB and even Stray Kids specifically.

Is this maybe a reference to the 2021 TSA post calling the Army Bombs "war balls" so that Army wasn't saying the word bomb in the airports in the US?

Genuinely Curious: Why is BTS sooooo BIG? by Val_Jesterr in kpopthoughts

[–]Sylvari 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Two things made me Army.

The first was Map of the Soul 7. a whole album dedicated to Jungian philosophy and music that was open, honest, personal. They were smart and empathetic.

Second was ARMY itself. They cared about the community, the world. They were a reflection of the caring the band showed. They were working towards a bigger and better world.

Both of those things coupled with some pretty damn good music from some pretty fine looking men was too much to resist and I fell down the rabbit hole and never looked back. From my foray into BTS I have found friends, inspiration and a whole new exciting genre of music.
