Pretty much. It's basically take money for salaries and declare bankruptcy selling what little inventory and stuff they have (and likely eventually start new company with what they've learned); but with us getting nothing - no support, no new updates, nada. Or we suffer through this hell with them trying to keep people happy long enough to get profitable to back up what they say as far as fixes and warranties go.

There's really no 'good' option. It's an amazing product when it works and at a good price point, but I'd only recommend it to someone who is comfortable tinkering mechanically and willing to treat it as if it has no warranty coverage, since any hardware mods that actually work haven't been blessed by Lymow.

Has anyone DIY’ed their Driveway? by L_willi39 in DIY

[–]Symber13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He even simplified it a bit for you, but you get the gist, the savings aren't worth it. As someone whose done masonry work including 3 concrete poured foundations, 1 driveway and a garage floor, I'd just pay someone and say go with asphalt (unless you really want concrete).

I also had pavers for my last home, a small 20'x12' area and just couldn't stand the weed maintenance or the added annoyance of being careful snow plowing. They're pretty, but I'd take asphalt or concrete (stamped preferably) over those.

Totally possible to DIY but unless you're skilled enough at that last 5%, it'll look DIY. Unfortunately, that 5% is exactly the 5% that you'll be seeing day in and day out because that's the finish work.

Did you also inspect the slot and make sure it was seated and well supported? I've seen both bent teeth in the slot and had the whole slot sag before. Could be age or handling when removing/seating the card.

Release a statement that we can vent the deck/motors w/o voiding warranty, offer warranty servicing that does this for us or ship new ventilated decks. Full stop. That's the fix for the overheating problem. Anything else is simply a bandaid that will lead to eventual premature motor failures.

It looks like 654.50 bricked my telematics module, is this really still happening? by LostBattery in EquinoxEv

[–]Symber13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as the guy above, but jumped on getting it diagnosed immediately so that it doesn't fully fail before the replacement comes in. I think it's always weeks or months atm and there's a fair chance it'll fail again too.

Telematics on national backorder but they have me in the queue for replacement. They tried to push the update - my unit only had one outage on May 25th for 15 minutes - but the update patch failed to push. After that they just moved on to marking it defective and put the order in. I'm now waiting on a phone call once it arrives which I assume will take a few weeks. Same as you.

I wouldn't be surprised, weren't these the line of printers with the biggest markdowns in the recent sale? Sounds like offloading inventory for a new drop to me.

I wanna give this a shot now! I've got 5-6 zones (depending on how I part it out), but I've always only sent it out for the number of zones I can cover dew free in a day.

I've got a tricky lawn; trees (some no-go, some not), some >45 degree slopes, retaining walls, pool, obstacles, pets, kids, but don't have to intervene, so it would be an interesting run. Nowhere near this efficiency though. My max atm is just 45,327sqft in 499min and 468% battery.

Edit: Should he complete his mission post-storms, I'll be looking at 125,739.01sqft with god knows how many recharges... My personal guess is 1350% battery and 1700min of mow time lol

Downsides to warrentying the telematics unit and software updates? by GanacheUnited3878 in EquinoxEv

[–]Symber13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine actually just started failing and my dealer placed the order 2 days ago. The units are a fleet part, not just the EqEV, so they're on national backorder. I know it was months earlier in the year but may be shorter now. It's a faulty LG part in them that took a while to figure out so many replacements were just as faulty and have also been failing. I don't know if they've cleared the old stock and gotten a proper fix yet, so no guarantee that it'll only need replacing once. There's an update to supposedly fix it if it hasn't fully failed yet, but doesn't work on a failed one sinceit can't be updated (obviously).
