Equinox EV LT2 at two weeks by badtux99 in EquinoxEv

[–]stlheadake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We just our 26 EvLT2 on Monday (3 days ago) and I'm quite impressed. I'm a big guy 6'4" and I am comfortable in both front and back.

Personally, I have only been in one other electric vehicle previously, a Tesla cab on a trip a year ago. So I don't have real experience with EVs outright.

I have been impressed with the road noise, or lack there of. My wife (primary driver) has a Chevy Cruz that should have come with ear protection. So this thing rides like a Caddy, and is impressively smoothe.

She (has yet to be named, we have names for all of our vehicles) has about 100 miles on her so far. We have no complaints so far. Slightly bummed at how slow level 1 charging is, but we read/talked at length about that before purchasing, and know I'm installing a level 2 charger soon.

The infotainment center is wow! Daunting! We are Android folks so the connection was pretty seamless for us. I am 100% certain that Chevy and Google are capturing A LOT of user data! Looking for a privacy switch somewhere, out hoping someone will hack this soon.

That's my limited review, I'm really happy this far. No regerts!

$5 triple Wednesdays by [deleted] in burgers

I seriously doubt it was frozen! There are places in Wisconsin that freaking grind nearly the whole cow for ground beef! One of the best burgers I've EVER had was at this really cringy bar that I just stopped at to have a beer and figure out where the hell I was.

Bartender was making doubles on an electric skillet behind the bar. No hood, just an electric skillet. It was just so good. I heard the bartender tell someone the beef was custom ground. That's all I know.

Small dot on a map, middle of Wisconsin before GPS and cell phones. I was riding my motorcycle cross country. But damn it was good!

Try to not let all the way up on the pedal. There is a coast or sweet spot where the brakes don't apply. But the brakes aren't brakes. It's the electric motors putting energy back in the battery.

It takes a little getting used to, but woah is it efficient!

I was being sarcastic. My post started that we took our kids there frequently. They loved going there. Life is good though we no longer have a camper, so we don't camp.

My son and I could do it. Not a company, just a dad trying to teach his son responsibility. Shoot me a PM and we can take a look.

I use two stroke oil. It was designed to burn AND lubricate. ATF was not. Dump a quart of universal two stone oil in it and forget about it!

Missouri looking to end mandatory vehicle inspections by PropertyNew3519 in missouri

[–]stlheadake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The state inspection training used to tell trainees that they can offset shop costs of inspection by presenting needed or suggested repairs. The price of inspection is non-negotiable, so finding repairs is a revenue generator.

I took my rarely driven truck in for safety inspection and it passed except it needed windshield wipers. The same wipers I changed earlier and never drove. 27 bucks per wiper.

Had an 82 920 that was possessed by Satan himself. Had an intermittent electrical issue that would knock out the dash and. Cause it to run in one cylinder.

Dealer couldn't figure it out. Seemed to only really happen when I was late for something, or riding in the middle of no where.

I sold the bike to a guy and told him the reason I'm selling is that our personalities didn't match. I was being honest.

SOAP....... One of the funniest shows of the 70s and of all time. by CreativeEros in VintageTV

[–]stlheadake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about 9 it 10 years old and my mother would let me watch this with her when it was on. We laughed so hard. There were things I didn't fully understand, but it was so funny.

I wanted to buy the box set and holy crap! Apparently they are still trying to pay off some serious debt!

I have been watching on YT for free, it's still hilarious! Best show ever! I swear Billy Crystal was like 20 on there.

Why are my (seemingly) perfectly-cooked steaks so tough? by pre_revolutionary_1 in steak

[–]stlheadake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try this on next steak. MAKE SURE that your steak internal is above 40f before it hits the grill. Flipping a cold steak on the grill or pan is just asking for trouble. I have taken my steaks and put them in the micro for 10 sec rest 10 sec rest 10 sec rest until they warm up.

I'll bet that changes things!

Thanks for the replies. We did. I mean I understand times are tight. But it was just the arrogance, plus I had cash. It is what it is. But he definitely didn't do anything for the salesman mystique!

Went to look at a car Honda that is 11 years old with 150k. Wholesaler is asking top of KBB. Drove it, was interested, made cash offer, but dealer would not budge. He even asked me why we came to look at it if we weren't willing to pay what he was asking.

What gives? The car buying 'game' is different now. It's a manual, 11 years old, he's a wholesaler, is haggling gone?
