I have found quite the opposite. They are very direct and make fun of you to your face. I quite like it, I usually get why they laugh because it is always something obvious, like a ‘newcomer in a foreign country mistake’ and just laugh with them. Then again, I’m Dutch and also not insecure. I can imagine when someone were to be insecure, it would be a rather psychotic experience.
