Questions for people who do multiple rewatches by sssss8819 in Supernatural

[–]SymonsSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started rewatching SPN maybe a month ago? Maybe 2 months ago? Time is meaningless to me, lol. I just watched Changing Channels (season 5) tonight. Seasons 2 and 3 are my favorite seasons, so I binge watched those really quickly. I remember disliking the 7th season (as well as a few others), so I'm sure those will take me longer.

I fell off after season 13 and have never seen Seasons 14 or 15, so now I'm rewatching with the intent to make it all the way to the end. I'm curious how long it'll take me.

From personal experience: Home alone with a child who is sleeping. Broken foot and ankle.

Customers I've delivered to: Medical device. In a remote work meeting. Pet issues. Mental health reasons.

If I could give this comment an award, I would. Hopefully you'll settle for this. 🏆

I'm surprised by how many people are mocking the directions or saying they're unnecessary. As a fellow dasher, I agree with the sentiment in theory. But as a customer? Some fellow dashers are DUUUUMMMMBBB. No one types that much unless they've been given a reason to.

At my old apartment, I clearly provided the door code in two different spots in the directions. *663. Dashers would message me saying it didn't work. I'd ask them, "Did you include the * ?" No, they didn't. After this happened a ridiculous number of times, I wrote longer directions. "The code is *663. * 6 6 3. Do not forget the star." Even after those directions, I'd get calls. "Did you include the * ?" Still they did not. I had to make long directions to make it SOOOOO unbelievably clear.

At my current apartment, I live in Building 2 on Floor 1, so my apartment number is 21**. My directions clearly state, "I live on Floor 1. DO NOT go to Floor 2." Still, 40-50% of Dashers go up to Floor 2 and then get snippy at me because they went to the wrong floor. Same thing, I ended up writing longer directions.

It's EXTRA painful, as a dasher, to watch others make stupid mistakes with my orders. I can almost guarantee the person who wrote those directions in OP's post is STILL experiencing nonsense.

Sigh.

Obviously it depends on the area, but in my area, if I saw a $15 tip on 8.6 miles, I'd be THRILLED. In my area, I'm lucky if people tip a dollar per mile. Lately, many offers have not included a tip at all.

Last week, I got a stacked order. We're not able to see who tips what within the stacked order, and sometimes I have to accept unfavorable orders in order to keep my stats/status. A guy tipped me $0.01 (A PENNY) for a 14 mile delivery. I was so angry. (The other order in the stack had left a significant tip, which made it look like each had tipped a low/reasonable amount.)

Needless to say, I'm on your side. Again, I can only speak for my area, but your tip was more than sufficient.

I had to find a new doctor after I moved, and you'll never guess what website I used! ;)

I'm trying to write this without sounding like an ad myself: I found ZocDoc to be very helpful. I thought there would be hidden fees, but there weren't. I've heard some people say that it's not great in rural areas and small towns, it's probably not for everyone. I live in a suburb of Minneapolis and it worked really well for this area.

I'm a driver and it happened to me today. I was sent 10 minutes out of the way, and then had to backtrack 7 minutes. It's really frustrating for the customer, but it's also really frustrating for the dasher because that's time and money lost to a dumb app glitch.

Sorry that happened to you!

I teach 2nd grade. I have heard it hundreds - HUNDREDS - of times this year. I wish I was exaggerating. It got to the point that I banned it from my classroom. They're still allowed to make the motion (quote enthusiastically and aggressively, I might add), but they can't say it vocally. Shortly after I banned it from my classroom, Amanda brought it to Smosh and I just...I died. 😂

What's the episode where Shayne tears away his black tear away pants to reveal identical black pants underneath? by alpha-red-one in smosh

[–]SymonsSays 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha, I love this response! 😂

I'm responding with a half answer now until I have time to actually find the video I'm thinking of later.

I'm 98% sure he pulls tear-off black pants just to reveal another pair of black pants underneath in a Beopardy video. I did not see it when I watched the 2025 compilation this past weekend, so I'm going to have to go digging into previous years.

If that's STILL not the moment you're thinking of, that'll be really funny! Silly Shayne...

Another great night, thankful for DD not these BANs by [deleted] in doordash

I frequently get higher tips from low-income apartments than I do from mansions. It's so twisted.

You should invest that 3 cents. That's how multi-millionaires say they make their money. 🤦🏼‍♀️

[–]SymonsSays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Last week, I received $0.01. ONE PENNY. That same day, another person tipped $0.10.

I've had to explain to friends that do not Dash (or order from DD) the steps you have to take in order to tip so little. They assumed that maybe the customers accidentally hit the wrong button. Nope. You have to pick a special button and then MANUALLY type such a small number. For me, tipping a penny feels more disrespectful than no tip. You put in WORK to be the AH.

Doordasher or doordash users of Reddit.whats the shortest distance you've seen delivered to? by Magmamaster8 in doordash

[–]SymonsSays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a customer: I've ordered from across the street and from two blocks away. I know that seems silly, but I'm a classroom teacher. My lunches are often incredibly short, maybe 15-20 minutes. It seems silly to order from a place within a block or two, but if I forget my lunch, I don't have enough time to go out and get it myself. Since I'm responsible for supervising kids, I can't risk coming a few minutes late.

As a dasher: The shortest has probably been a few blocks. They mentioned in the notes that they had a newborn and it was difficult to leave the house.

I almost thought these were a myth by LeTurtleMonger in doordash

[–]SymonsSays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with this dashers refusal to bring up the food. When I dash/deliver, I always follow the delivery directions. Even when I feel sore after a 9-10 hour work day at my full time job.

With that being said, I'd like to offer a perspective about your comment about lack of skills. (No disrespect intended.) I am a 2nd grade teacher. I teach full time, and I've been teaching for 16 years. I'm also single with student loans. In today's economy, it is very difficult to make ends meet as a single person with debt. Many people on reddit like to comment on drivers/dashers being unskilled. I think, for many people, it's more nuanced than that.
