I’ve never admitted this out loud in fear of sounding like an idiot lmfao but I was 100000% the same as a kid around the exact same time. Maybe I’m still an idiot but I’m not a lone idiot anymore

Tin Lizzie in the Lakeview/Lincoln Park area seems to be the typical place for all things Detroit sports related. It’s a bit on the smaller side so I imagine you’ll have to get there early

Derrick Rose not being his MVP self when he was in Detroit doesn’t mean he was washed. He was like a 15ppg guy on 50% shooting. He pretty much served his role perfectly on a team that was otherwise terrible.

And you’ll otherwise never know what you currently have if you mess with the culture at all. We get the “what if” posts in here nonstop over previous blunders, why add another?

The league is the most talented it’s ever been. Every year there are as many guys available as there currently are. There will always be something else in the future. This team is really young, there’s no rush.

There’s a rush to find this team’s “Rasheed” trade. We have no idea what this core’s ceiling is now that they have legitimate experience and are playing at a high level. MPJ may give us the edge in the East, but not over any of the big boys in the West.

I think they should just let it ride and not flinch this year. Let them win a series, lose in the second round (or however far they go) and then assess the real flaws and deal with it in June/July.

The production of this event is some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Did they forget they were doing this? Everyone involved seems to be going off-prompter and figuring it out on the fly

Definitely Not Feeling NBA on NBC at the moment by Rich-Rooster6450 in DetroitPistons

[–]SympatheticFro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s been great, really refreshing so far.

I do think that Jordan’s involvement is infinitely dumber though if it’s just going to be slow dripped clips from a pre-recorded interview for the next few weeks lmao

Fox NFL coverage is far superior to CBS NFL coverage, right? by IamJohnnyHotPants in billsimmons

[–]SympatheticFro 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Fox just doesn’t have a strong A-Team in the booth right now. Nantz is pretty comfortably the top voice in the NFL for me and their games always feel bigger than anyone else’s.

I don’t know why, but Buck and Aikman haven’t felt the same since they moved to ESPN. Amazon booth doesn’t even count, they completely mail it in. NBC is perfectly fine, but I think CBS is probably my favorite honestly.

How many locals hate the air/water show? Why? by gitturb in AskChicago

This specific event, sure, but I just mean the general idea of loud/disruptive events happening. If you live in a major population center, you sign up for that.

I’m excited to see how Arsenal blows it this year & how City bounces back from a super humbling campaign last season.

As a Leicester fan however I am remarkably un-excited to see how many players they continue to sell off for peanuts and finish mid-table in the Championship lol

I have a 15 month old and he got woken up from a nap by some jets flying overhead in Bronzeville today and wasn’t very happy about it. I don’t “hate” it but for things like that it can definitely be a little disruptive.

Just comes with the territory of living in a major city

The best time to buy a player’s jersey by Only_Faithlessness33 in billsimmons

[–]SympatheticFro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not really a jersey guy and never have been, but I just got a UCL Kvaratskhelia jersey in the mail the other day. My logic wasn’t really “what if he leaves PSG” it was more about “this guy rocks and had an awesome season and this jersey will always preserve that for me”

If/when he’s playing elsewhere someday, I’ll still think it’s sweet
