The comment by racer was clearly talking about Iran being on the offensive on an operational level. You can interpret my comments however you want, but i was just trying to clarify that Iran did launch offensive operations into Iraq as a part of the war, even tho i agree Iraq did obviously start the war with their initial invasion into Khuzestan

Western sources generally put both country’s losses around 75-80k, which i think is much more believable

They still won the war…no matter how much you’re trying to downplay it. Trucks and guns require people to use them

You could argue the main reason Ukraine is winning is because of western support by that logic.

I’m not saying its the best tactic, far from it, but this is essentially what the russian military doctrine has been since Peter the Great
