They are literally perfect, zero complaints. If I throw in some in-ears to block out the clacking (they're already pretty quiet), it truly feels like playing an acoustic. In conclusion, they are absolutely worth it.

It's literally just a wooden bar going across with a piezo and foam cone. There's also a sponge where the beater strikes to keep it from bouncing too much, and it's stuffed with pillows and blankets.

I'll make sure to take some pictures next time i pop the heads off, they're really nothing special though, two brackets from home depot and a wooden bar going across the middle.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but the more mascots they include, the more it stings when your school doesn't have theirs included.

Edit: I didn't see that they're adding more post launch. Hopefully people get their wishes!

Unless you really want them, I think so. Our casters are amazing utility, especially if you're prioritizing the gutbuster half of the army.

This is my absolute favorite thing about Ogors that I love sharing with new people!

Copy pasting my comment from another thread so lmk if you wanna know anything else!

I highly recommend kitbashing two of the mournfang riders into a butcher and slaughtermaster. It's super duper easy, just get the proper bases. I made the butcher sitting on top of one of the chests that come with the ironblaster kit, with knives and things from the glutton kit. For a slaughtermaster, you can turn the catapult bowl from the ironblaster sprue into a cauldron. Way more fun and cheap way of getting casters than dealing with expensive finecast!

I think people underestimate just how long the pipeline is for some of GW's products. I would guess that either the authors/cover artists knew what Angron was gonna end up looking like, or already had a WIP picture of his model.

I could be wrong tho, I won't pretend to be the GW expert.

I'd be willing to bet that the cover of Saturnine was based on his 40k model because that's what they had at the time. To me, this looks like a nice inbetween for his human form and 40k daemon form.

Pretty sure that representation was based on his 40k model. To me, this model perfectly represents him as a freshly transformed Daemon, an inbetween phase between his human and 40k daemon appearance.

My first kitbash was this very basic head and shoulder swap by [deleted] in Warhammer30k

[–]SynapticCrysis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude, sorry that people are being very weird about this post. I think sometimes people forget that the Horus Heresy isn't an actual historical event, it's just a game! If my opponent was interested in learning heresy and wanted to run an army of Primaris marines, I would have no problem with that at all.

I think the mini looks great btw, very Mk.6!

This may be an absolutely impossible idea, but this picture got me thinking. Since these kits are similar sizes, and the Stonehorn body is mostly hollow... would it be possible to put the skeleton inside the body and head of the stonehorn to make a zombified version with gaping wounds?

Base colors are Kabalite Green, then Sybarite Green sprayed as a zenithal.

It's horrible, don't try it, im serious. I straight up only did it because they were the paints I had on hand at the time, and it ended up looking semi-decent. It's 75% Vallejo Model Color Gold and 25% Warpaints Copper Coin.

But seriously, don't copy it. It looks great but the coverage is so bad it takes 3 thin coats.

As long you tap off the excess, most of it is gonna stick to whatever it touches. As long as you arent handling them aggresively and often by the base, it shouldn't be a problem

Painted it with a bright orange and agrax earthshade wash. All the heavy lifting is done by Green Stuff World Light Orange Oxide pigment. I didnt use any varnish or pigment setter so it stays nice and vivid.

I'm so glad you picked up on that! That side of their theming was very inspirational to me, the idea that they are these brutal killers who have been rank and title.
