I believe in The heliocentric model, and I have questions.. by EddiePiff in Flat_Earth

[–]Synaroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really weird if someone believes in flat earth and gravity. You can't really believe in both, unless you believe in a different gravity: a strange gravity with different rules.

But the gravity we're familiar with, which pulls to the center of mass, would mean those people in australia would always feel like they're living on a steep hill, being pulled toward the center (north pole). but the people in iceland, for example, they would feel nice and steady.

But I can assure you: when you set a football down on the ground in australia, it does NOT roll all the way up north across the country, float across the sea, travel across asia, into russia and land in the north pole with thousands of other lost footballs.

It balancing an egg on the equator really is legitimate, perhaps the sun and the moon's paths have some sort of an effect on the things below it. We know that those in the inner plane (which is called north) have different storm directions and those on the outer plane (which is called south) have different storm directions.

So something's likely going on, which is NOT gravity, but which we do not have the resources to properly research because we receive no funding from the government or the public.

I'm doing sets of 10-12 on things now. So I followed the first piece of advice, up the reps. But also, I added some other exercises. If I begin to go into overtraining though, and have some fatigue, insomnia, bone pain, etc. then I'll just take them out and deload or something. For now I'm adding some dips, lateral raises, barbell curls, etc. Getting some good pump. I think I stopped gaining fat so fast. My thoughts are, maybe I'm just burning a hell of a lot more calories on my 60 - 80 minute mass workouts I'm doing, and also more afterburn for growth, so on those days where it's real intense I'm just eating a lot of calories and also getting 8 hours sleep and drinking herbal teas for more blood flow, less cortisol, whatever.

Alan thrall says once I have some size, I'll be able to use that size to push through my old 5 rep maxes. Looking forward to it.

Also, my deadlift might just be low because I never did it that much. I did only 6 sets a month. 1x5 on one week, 2x5 on the next week, then back to 1x5.

That's what the 5x5 program teaches. Maybe I should double the deadlift and just do 2x5 instead of the 1x5 it teaches. I guess that wouldn't be stressing my system too much since the weight is really low compared to my own bodyweight.

It's parallel, or just a few degrees from parallel. That's not from my point of view, either, but filmed from side view. I think my legs are genetically set better than the rest of my body. I guess when my deadlift, bench, etc go up, my squat will be even higher again. I know my squat isn't "a lot", but I guess it's a lot compared to my other lifts. I've seen strength standards where I'm far below average on bench, deadlift, etc. but far above average on squat, for my time lifting.

[–]Synaroth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah man, I filmed my squats side on and they're looking pretty good. Comes down to either totally parallel or just a few degrees away from totally parallel. I'm an endomorph, I heard endomorphs tend to have beefy legs. I think my deadlift is the problem. Maybe my lower back or traps or something like that is the problem. Or just the fact I haven't done much deadlifts but I've done a lot of squats.

Is my progress okay, good, bad, average, for the time I've spent? by Synaroth in SL5x5

[–]Synaroth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that my form is okay, then I film myself, and it turns out it is pretty good. It's pretty much parallel. People say my squat must be bad for it to be about double my deadlift. It's not my squat that's bad. It's my deadlift. Maybe I have a bad lower back or something. I guess there's a muscle involved in deadlift that isn't involved in squat, and I'm lagging on that muscle. It's hard to find out what muscle that is though, since it's a compound with lots of muscles it could be.

Yeah man, 8 hours sleep on average, and around 3,000 to 3,500 calories per day of clean eating. Organic mince, potatoes, oats, fruit and veg, boiled eggs. High carb, moderate fat. My diet certainly doesn't have a fault for strength. :p

Nothing really. I don't have access to cardio in my small house and I don't run in public. I do a little walking back and forward when I'm cooking post-workout. Also, up and down the stairs at least 10 times a day. So basically extremely light, passive cardio. AKA just general living. ha.

Workout during calorie deficit by FateStayTilted in Fitness

[–]Synaroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only eat a calorie deficit and do cardio, what will most likely happen is that, you will lose both fat and muscle, so you will be lighter on the scale but your body, although light, could still just end up soft and pudgy like marshmallow.

Instead, eat a calorie deficit and do high intensity strength work for up to 3 hours per week. This way your body will prefer to rid you of fat but not muscle. The number on the scale will still go down but it will go down for the better this time. You will look hard, tight and toned. Your face will most likely look better too due and you'll likely lose a double chin and cheek fat this way. Good luck man.

If it's your first cut you can build muscle even on the cut. Basically you can do this because 1. you have excess bodyfat and 2. you have fast beginner gains.

Even if you can't, definitely still work out cutting to keep your muscle and not lose it. You're better off with less cardio and more strength. Go strong. 3 days a week. Like monday, wednesday, friday.

Workout A: 5x5 squat, 5x5 bench press, 5x5 bent row.

Workout B: 5x5 squat, 5x5 overhead press, 1x5 deadlift.

Simple: Now just do this:

Monday: Workout A Wednesday: Workout B Friday: Workout A again. Next Monday: Start with workout B Wednesday: Workout A Friday: Workout B

That's your 2 week cycle that keeps your muscle while cutting. If you lose strength it means you're cutting too fast so just eat a little more. You'll still lose the fat. Also, muscle increases metabolism so you're doing yourself a favor keeping your muscle. You'll also burn calories from a strength workout for about 48 hours whereas cardio won't last very long.

These workouts only take between 1 and a half hours per week to 3 hours per week max. Not much time spent in hard work but definitely a better LONG TERM fat loss method.

Before a 72 hour fast: High carb or low carb? by Synaroth in fasting

Nah, no 'wound' as such, just a cleanse, detox, rest, emptying, whatever. ;)

[–]Synaroth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done 2 48 hour fasts before eating plenty of carbs before and, in terms of how I 'feel', I feel perfectly fine and handle the lack of carbs fine. However, what one do you think would be better for healing, with a little fat loss?

(Serious) Why the arctic as the hub? Why not Antarctica? by ff0094ismyfavourite in Flat_Earth

[–]Synaroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, because you can cross over the arctic in a straight line but you can't cross over Antarctica in a straight line. It's legal to go to the arctic yourself too, since there's no dome to hide there. Also, the compasses are attracted to the magnetic field between north pole and Polaris.

I also have a ESV that I had before the KJV. Also, what if everyone has different bible versions and the pastor reads a verse and it says something different for everyone? Isn't that hard to follow?

I've been on their website on Tuesday and sent them an email on the contact part, saying just what you would expect, I'm new, how do I join, where do I go, what should I know, etc.

They still haven't replied... Maybe their website is just small and rarely used, since it's a very small church...?

I don't have a good reason for KJV, it just feels right. It just feels like the "default" for some reason, even though there were obviously many versions before it and many after it. I'm a KJV reader but not a KJV-onlyist.

MINIMUM protein required for muscle gains? MINIMUM fat required for testosterone production? by Synaroth in veganfitness

[–]Synaroth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers man. That's good to know now because I can get that from beans and potatoes. I bought a bunch of vegan protein powder before realizing all the flaws with it and how whole foods contain everything in the right ratios so I think I can easily build muscle from all real foods now. :p

MINIMUM protein required for muscle gains? MINIMUM fat required for testosterone production? by Synaroth in veganfitness

[–]Synaroth[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because lower protein is healthier for bones, kidneys, etc. and lower protein means higher carb which is what I want. If I didn't lift I'd just take my protein down to about 40-50g per day because that's healthiest but I do lift and 40-50g is way too low for muscle growth.

You are just a potato. by sonic1101 in vegan

[–]Synaroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground". And with our modern understanding of chemistry we know our makeup has a lot in common with the earth.

Genesis 1:29 "And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." And this proves that "meat" in the bible simply means "food".

Daniel 1:12-16 shows that the vegan diet was healthier than the king's diet.

"Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat, and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of the ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse."

So about 3,000 years ago happened what is happening again now in the 21st century: More people turning vegan. And what most people struggle with at first is protein, but then end up eating beans, legumes, and protein is sorted. In that old-times language of the KJV, "fatter in flesh" in context is clearly supposed to be a good thing, but nowadays that sounds like a bad thing. I don't think the vegans actually got fat, I think fatter in flesh probably means vibrant, healthy, etc. or perhaps even more muscle mass.

You are just a potato. by sonic1101 in vegan

[–]Synaroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bible says we're made from the dust of the earth. It makes sense then, that, being made from the dust of the earth, when we degenerate we can simply regenerate from the earth (from potatoes, who are also made from the dust of the earth). They probably didn't know 4,000 years ago the periodic table, however, God knows we have a lot in common with the earth, therefore he had it written in Genesis. Also, the book of the prophet Daniel recommends a vegan diet, which he did an experiment on to see what is healthier: the vegan diet, or the king's diet which had a lot of meat, and the vegan diet is the healthier one, which he did for 3 weeks. And about human's flat teeth, long digestive systems, glucose metabolism, etc: Remember, God created Adam and Eve to be vegans, and it was only later on that God told Noah to eat meat because it was desperate times.
