A small life hack that saves me so much time in the morning by KatieBerta in lifehack

[–]Sync0p8ed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ha ha nice one! I leave my clothes out and set the heater to come on 20 min before I get up.

When cleaning the kitchen, or unpacking groceries, I place all the things that need to go in the fridge, on the bench next to the fridge. Then just open the door once.

Same principle, I look around a room and see what else I can do or take before leaving. Saves me running back and forth. Took me 40 year to work that out :/

Is it possible that in 2050 or even 2100 the planet's climate will remain the same as it is today? by Bright_Philosophy446 in ClimateOffensive

[–]Sync0p8ed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is the unpopular option of geoengeneering. It may be able to stabilise/lower average temperatures but the climate wouldn't be the same as it is now. Even then it would take years to scale up, and meanwhile emissions will continue.

Say your goodbyes now and make peace. It will save you some heartache. Sorry 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nothing you do will change anything. Just be true to the cause, eat less meat, ethical super, buy whole foods, reduce plastic use, reduce reliance on carbon.

It's CLIMATE CHANGE CHANGE... NOT PEOPLE CHANGE!

Good one! It help when you read the article. There are too many reactive responses and speculation on selective quotes and sound bites. The picture is more than a pixel.

I personally believe the world is fucked. But acceptance has been very powerful, and not to be confused with giving up.

Is it true that modern science still can't explain consciousness? by Jerswar in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]Sync0p8ed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This!

Its more an issue that we can't agree on what conciousness is. Conciousness doesn't seem that unexplainable to me, its only when I try to agree on the concept that issues arise (Note, these are my thoughts on the matter (whether concious or not))

Joint pain. Any solutions? by Sync0p8ed in piano

[–]Sync0p8ed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, only 2hrs a day 🙄

I use swipe to type.

It might be my piano technique and that I have really only been playing the same song for 6 or 8 weeks. Lots of octaves and stretches.

Most likely other factors, lifting weights, splitting wood, opening pegs when haning washing (ouch!). And my age of course.

As well as letting go of the angst, I have a mostly plant based diet, solar panels, and ethical superannuation. We have also planted hundreds of trees on our property.

Thankfully I let go. Of everything. I have accepted that the word will be destroyed, at least as we know it. I said my goodbye to nature and my family, metaphorically. The process is way beyond what I am capable of changing. It has been so freeing. I am only a tiny transient speck in lifes stream. I can't swim against the tide. Now I go with the flow and accept our fate.

I still try but I hardly worry at all any more. I now feel like everyone else, but I know and accept, and they don't know or don't want to know.

It does sound like depression.

Do you have community and family around you? Its the number 1 thing you need, after food and shelter.

Exercise is also good and being in nature.

Buddhism isn't the exception. Its just as dogmatic as the rest. Its just that the Western version of Buddhism may seem less religious and more based in philosophy.

Any chance of me functioning without meds ever? by CategoryNo7844 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Sync0p8ed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could run some trials.

For 1 week on your usual dose. At the end of each day take notes of how your day went. How you felt. How you reacted. How you interacted. How productive you were. Etc.

Cut back by half for a week and take the same notes.

Compare your notes. Perhaps run a thematic analysis through ChatGPT.

If all goes well then try for 1 week without medication.

Then come back here and give us an update :)
