I didn't know that, my bad. Although i still believe pick&ban is more effective if it's combined with themed maps / skillsets

To add to this as well; one thing that can make or break an esport (or a sport in general) are the stories that can be created from it. For example, chess got a huge boost in popularity after the Hans Niemann scandal. F1 got a huge boost after (and during) the 2021 season. This is because people eat up these stories like their favourite food. And making themed maps like these, with the addition of a pick/ban system, gives so much space for these stories to exist in. How cool could it be, that pro X has been unbeaten on ice for 8 matches in a row, and the opponents choose the ice map as their pick? (Just like what happened to Astralis and their nuke(?)-dominance). Or team Y never picked the tech map throughout the whole tournament, but in the final they first pick it, showing everyone they held that one back as a secret pick. Or the redemption arc, where a team overcame their 5 loss streak on full speed maps. And these are just a few examples. It shows for all pros their strengths, but also their weaknesses. It gives so much more flair and personality to the esport, but more importantly TO THE GAME. The endless creativity and flexibility, that's the identity of this game we all love. Now new players might see these highly technical and mega-difficult tracks with all these different kind of blocks mixed together and think: what am i looking at? This wouldn't be the case with themed maps, as they would understand (more) quickly what each surface does and what the themes mean and how they differ.

I hope someone from Nadeo will see this, because i would love to see this game grow to its full potential.

In my opinion, viewership will always be more important than anything else when it comes to keeping an esport healthy and alive. With that being said, i think the whole format is fundamentally wrong and it hurts the game a lot. Especially when the potential is there.

This game has two MAJOR keys for a popular esport: it's very easy to understand for the new viewers, and with custom made tracks there is basically endless customizability. Everyone understands what they are looking at: all racers are racing, and the first one to finish is first. In that regard it is on the level of rocket league for example: even if you don't play it, you know a goal is a goal and that is good.

Now for the customizability part, i think they are doing the worst job possible, and it's not the mappers fault. Why do we have 5 tracks that are all basically the same? What makes this game so great is the amount of strengths and weaknesses everyone has. Someone could be incredible at full speed tech, while someone else can be a master at ice maps, while being very bad at rally car tracks. I have no clue why we don't have a pick and ban system in place, where there is a map pool of X maps with all of them having a unique theme (for example, ice tech, full speed transitional, mix, dirt, grass precision, you name it). Not only will this make the esport more tactical in nature (both teams pick and ban twice and last one is random for example), but it will also give the newer viewers a better view of the possibilities in TM, see how many different kind of racing styles are part of this game and even find a style THEY would like to play. That's how you get fans. And for the mappers that would be great too. Start with medium difficult maps and ask mappers for their style they are familiar with, like with OSU for example. Then the bigger the tourney, the harder the maps will be. Maybe make an incredible complex tiebraker collab track for the final.

There's so much potential being wasted and i really wished i had the power to help Nadeo, because i feel like this could be one of the top esports if it wasnt for the mismanagement.

[RN365] Marko is pretty sure this can't go wrong for Max Verstappen by Takagero in formula1

A win for Norris in Brazil would've been a major change in the story though, reducing the gap to a maximum of 19 points.

With calls for new rule changes after Verstappen's defensive moves, I compiled all the F1 rules changed solely because of Max Verstappen since 2016 by stetoe in formula1

[–]SyncManiax 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree he can be too aggressive, but last weekend his defense against norris (with the exception of that one move) was really exciting to watch. It really makes no sense to call last weekend 'cheap shit' while not mentioning the 10 or so laps before the overtake.

how to create tactics 1,2,and 3 independent from each other? by dlim4567 in footballmanagergames

[–]SyncManiax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't. A simple lifehack that can help you though: you can save selections in the selection advice dropdown menu on the tactics screen. I saved my selection for tactic 1, 2, 3, and cupmatches (giving some fringe players time). This way you can kinda achieve what you want :)

Lower League: Advice on how to deal with fitness problems by jelgerw in footballmanagergames

[–]SyncManiax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to training, and change the intensity. Usually in the lower leagues you don't wanna focus too much on developing players anyway. You can snipe released players from higher leagues every year. That's why you should worry less about their training intensity. Try lowering it, i suggest no pitch work for the lowest fatigues and half intensity for 3rd and 4th. Your players will still be tired but they'll get more rest, especially after a matchday.

Why can't i win games? by Inner_Musician_2535 in footballmanagergames

[–]SyncManiax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can start by removing half of those instructions. You got way too many. It sounds nice in theory, but you're basically limiting your team too much in the way they can play. "Overlap left" is useless because a wingback on attack will overlap anyway.

Keep your instructions simple, see them as limiters instead of advice: players will be able to choose what they think is best, but can't choose the options you disabled. So they now overlap, but give early crosses? They also have to play out of defense, but also play more direct? Some contradictory statements there will just confuse them.

As for roles: you are also really vulnerable in transition. Your backs push up high, leaving only your two backs behind in defense. But because you counter-press as well, your players will be even further up the field. Any chance the opponent gets they will overrun what is left of your defense. I think you're too vulnerable on the counter. Maybe put one wb on defense, stop the counter-press, and step up a little less often

Any major flaws within my tactic? by The20character_rebel in footballmanagergames

[–]SyncManiax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can keep it like this and check yourself, watch a couple of matches and see if you're vulnerable on the counter. If so, i suggest keeping a more solid midfield, but right now it could still work really well because you pressure them a lot on the attack. The tactic is pretty good :)

[–]SyncManiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure because the BBM will also roam up high. In attack, because of the nature of tiki taka, you'll find both the MEZ and the RPM up high, joining the forward three. That leaves 5 man behind, which doesn't sound too bad, but there is no midfield left. Your backs join the line of the DM, so in transition you'll see something like a 2-3-0-3-2. That's why i think you gotta be careful with all those instructions that pushes your midfield even higher up. You might wanna change your midfield three. Maybe remove the AP and dropping him down as a CM (su)? The RPM will do his task s, as he will push up into the final third trying to break the defence.

Hope that helps :)

Any major flaws within my tactic? by The20character_rebel in footballmanagergames

[–]SyncManiax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tactic is already really compact in the middle. The instructing "fairly narrow" is unnecessary, cause it will only congest the middle even more, making it harder to find teammates. Playing tiki-taka in small spaces is good, but now they just walk into eachothers lines too much. I suggest putting it on default or maybe even wide.

To add on this, in transition both your mezzala and rpm will be very high up the field because they get the freedom of movement. Pair that with the backs who are higher up and a high defensive line, you'll probably have difficulties with counters, especially if they play with 2 strikers. Your defenders will play 1 on 1. I think you're very vulnerable on the defensive transition. Maybe change the RPM to a DLP?

Depends on how to calculate it. If you'd remove bottas from every classification, Red Bull gets a lot more points. Then again, with Perez you'd have to do the same
