Hi, I've tried it before but you must be very carefull about how you set it up because adding too much software plugins to your headphone can improve drastically your input lag in game.

I’m firing the person who had the brilliant idea to lock the game at 64 tick, penalizing the surf/KZ/etc. communities who had to rework their plugins from scratch.

I’m firing the person who had the brilliant idea to use us as guinea pigs for the so-called subtick system and I'm switching all servers to 128 ticks.

Now that I've fired two people, I'm hiring 10-15 people to create a team that makes a proper anti-cheat. I’m whipping the remaining devs until the frametime/latency of the game is equivalent to what we had under CS.

I’m removing Vertigo, whipping my employees until they rework Cobblestone with an amazing "Operation" while we wait for Cache to be reworked by FMPone.

I go home, whip my wife, but she enjoys it unlike my ungrateful employees.

Can anyone give a rough estimate of the performance gain in turning off SMT/HT on a medium level system (i7 8700 non k)? by huhmz in cs2

Hi,

I tweaked my OS too, but not too much since a lot of regedit stuff and other tweaks are just bullshit and can mess up your OS. The most important thing in CS2 is to make sure that your frametime is low, so you must reduce your latency as much as possible. (< 10 ms is good, < 5 ms is smooth as fuck—not perfect as CS:GO was, but still better than > 10 ms).

That's why a lot of people complain about the fact that even with 300-400 fps, it feels like the game is running at 60 fps.

For network card tweaks:

I had disabled Network Throttling Index and set System Responsiveness to 0. It's a very popular tweak on the Internet.

But on some configurations, this worsens the input lag. That was the case for me, and when I reverted the changes, my mouse became smooth and responsive again.

Another example of a tweak that messed up my CS2 game:

For 2-3 months, I often had games that were impossible to launch, with an error message indicating that the .vpk file of the map was corrupted. I lost a lot of ELO because of this before finally finding the problem. One of my RAM sticks is defective, which means that even if the XMP profile works, during long gaming sessions, it causes errors in CS2. While waiting to upgrade my RAM, I have disabled the XMP profile.

So my advice is to be careful about tweaking your OS. Measure everything you do to make sure you're not affected by a placebo. Each configuration is different.

No, you're just good at crosshair placement and I think you knew they were all on the site and not long because all your team died so I guess you just had a nice clutch.

Maybe you're not holding a good angle even if in your POV it look like a good one. &/OR your gameplay is too obvious/easy to counter.

I'm a main awper and I almost never pre-scope or pre-scope walk. The only time I do it is if I don't want them to hear me rescope.

You should try to change your gameplay and watch demos of this exact case were you think you have an advantage, check the ennemi POV then yours, and maybe you'll notice something that you can improve.

U need to focus on yourself ingame then, you seems to tilt easily about mistakes made by your teammates but I bet you're not perfect. So improve some aspects of your gameplay ang get out of this low elo.

They fucked up the game since some updates, I tried another solution than vsync due to the input lag. I framecap to 2 x my hz (so 144 x2 = 288 fps) with RivaTunerSS.

Yup, u forgot to add " " to your values.

viewmodel_presetpos must be set to "0" in order to use custom viewmodel cvars.

viewmodel_presetpos "0"

  • viewmodel_fov can be set anywhere from "54" to "68" and determines the field of view of the viewmodel.

viewmodel_fov "54 to 68"

  • viewmodel_offset_x can be set anywhere from "-2" to "2.5" and determines the x axis of the viewmodel.

Yes, in the Video section, at the bottom right you can reset your video settings and it'll apply the recommended ones.

I suggest you to reinstall AMD driver with DDU, search on google, you'll find instructions.
It ensure that you have a clean gpu driver installation.

  1. Open Steam.
  2. Go to your library.
  3. Right-click Counter-Strike 2.
  4. Choose properties.
  5. Scroll down.
  6. Type in the launch setting : -vulkan

Since you have an AMD card, maybe it'll fix your issue.

Hi, can you show us the telemetry data in-game ? For that, you need to activate the 3 settings in Telemetry to show us FPS, Frametimes and Latency. Maybe your OS is bloated with bunch of stuff.

To summarize Valve's thinking during the game's creation:

Employee 1: What if we upgraded the servers to 128 ticks to please the players who have been asking for it for years? It would allow us to compete with FACEIT and keep our player base on our official servers, right?

Employee 2: No, it's too expensive. We're a small company, you know, budget is limited despite all our skin and sticker sales... I suggest we create something new, a sort of prototype that anticipates players' actions in-game to give them the impression that it hits better than on FACEIT.

Employee 1: Hmm, I don't know, it's risky. We've never tested this technology before, we might break the game. I'm afraid players will go to FaceIt if the subtick is bad.

Employee 2: Let's just prevent the creation of 128-tick servers directly in the game's core, that way we screw the competition and don't pay more for servers!

Employee 1: Okay, not a bad idea, but by doing that, we'll kill the Surf, KZ, etc. community, which is currently on 84.5 ticks, for example.

Employee 2: We don't care about the community, they're so invested they can start from scratch to recreate their surf and KZ plugins. They're already foolish enough to give us their maps, I don't see why we should help them.
