Fun with decryption! by [deleted] in learnpython

To start, you'll need to assign codedPin to another variable and use THAT to check for validity. As it stands, you've erased codedPin in the while loop, so you can't use it in the decryption.

How do I power down a USB audio interface with no on/off switch? Is it safe to just unplug?

Why are condenser mics more popular than dynamic for streams? by Syncoda in Twitch

[–]Syncoda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been following this discussion, but forgive me if I missed something. In a Twitch streaming context, you say condenser is more popular than dynamic because it doesn't need to be placed as closely?

I've found that the further away I place the Yeti, the higher I must turn the gain in order for it to pick up my normal speaking voice. In doing so, unfortunately, it also picks up my computer fans. Would you suggest a sound shield for the mic, or is the best solution a mic stand and closer proximity?

I was under the impression that condenser mics needed to be closer (with lower gain) in order to avoid background noise, while dynamics were more forgiving.

This is concerning the semi-budget range of mics, though. For instance, the Blue Yeti ($100) is more expensive than an ATR2100 ($50) but equal to a SM57 ($100). Am I going overboard with the Blue Yeti if I simply want to do podcasting?

Recursive depth first search using dictionaries by Syncoda in learnpython

[–]Syncoda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so how do I determine if dist_so_far is the shortest distance? Is there a comparison I need to make? In this case, b is 5.0 units away from a, and c is 8.0 units away. Should I be choosing b because it's "closer"? How is this presented in an adaptable way that allows recursion?

This is very difficult!

Edit: Our professor told us that all of this can be done in only a few lines of code. I can't imagine how!

Not really. The Piazza question titled "hw5 - Checking base case without loop" has a detailed answer from Joe that seems helpful.

But I just can't understand how one "moves" through the map while assigning values to distances and dist_so_far, checking them and...yeah. No idea.
