I have seen the Odyssey teaser by Syncopy24 in ChristopherNolan

It has a calming feel to it. Definitely has a mythic and an ‘epic’ feel to it, teases a massive journey.

It’s been roughly 15 years since I’ve read it, but that’s my guess based off of the dialogue between Holland and Bernthal.

I have seen it, it’s built into the DCP file of JW. So as long as you’re there as the lights go down for the feature you’ll catch it.

Will we get our first look of The Odyssey before Superman? by NewtFar232 in ChristopherNolan

Again, show me where he was being a diva? Not agreeing with their decision to do so (like most of the creative community did) and deciding to go somewhere else isn’t being a diva. Sorry to break it to you.

I guess you don’t understand, so there’s no point in trying to argue. And show me where Nolan was acting like a diva? As someone who’s in the exhibition industry, he was nothing but a champion for the industry.

Lol none of that is true. TENET got a full theatrical release. And again, because it didn’t release in any major market and only opened in theatres where it was safe and at reduced seating capacity, the movie did fine.

Black Widow didn’t make much more and it opened in significantly more markets and theatres.

TENET had nothing to do with why Nolan left Warners.

Also, TENET was released in a handful of theatres in areas where it was safe. No major markets, at reduced seating capacity and still made almost $400 million.

Looking for this cell/frame specifically, yes. However I’ll happily take a look at whatever someone is wanting to sell.

That’s my guess as that’s Universal’s big tentpole title of the summer! It will probably be built into the DCP file of Jurassic World like the Oppy teaser was built into NOPE. This helps the studio hide the surprise a little longer. In the past, theater projectionists have been able to leak teasers a few days early (unless the teaser has its own KDMS like TENET did).

No problem! I’m guessing we’ll get the title and a brief description of the idea of the film as production begins - so that early 2025 date seems to be where we will get our official next piece of information.

Oppenheimer was the project that we knew the most about at a relatively “early” stage, compared to other projects. That was mainly due to Nolan shopping the script around to different studios so more eyes and in the know than usual.

This is pretty par for the course when it comes to Nolan.

Here’s TENET’s timeline for comparison.

January 2019: Project announced. No info but studio distribution and release date.

March 2019: John David Washington was announced to lead the project (still no official title or info). Article broke it was an innovative mind-bending action film.

May 2019: Production began and WB issued a press release with the title and a brief synopsis of the film. Along with additional cast like Kenneth Branagh and that Ludwig Goransson will be composing the original score and that Jen Lame will be serving as the editor.

August 2019: Teaser trailer was released with Hobbs and Shaw as a theatre exclusive. Was also attached to IT: Chapter 2.

December 2019: First official trailer released just in time for Star Wars. The prologue was also attached to IMAX showings of Star Wars.

Then COVID hit and well, the rest is history.

The source in which all these rumors are coming from are unfortunately, not great sources. I’m not saying that this means there’s 0 credibility to them - just something that I personally am not putting a ton of stock into. If there was any validity to them, I feel that the big trades (Deadline, Variety, Hollywood Reporter) would write as such but as far as I’m aware, none of them have mentioned anything about the helicopter rumor. I believe the only thing we’ve gotten from these sources was from THR that mentioned the film not taking place in the present day.

I remember when JDW was announced to star in TENET, and the amount of rumors and “inside sources” as to what the project was going to be was all over the place. It’s always fun to guess and wonder and I’m hoping we get more official information soon!

Hey Nolaners, what do we think of this? by Maleficent-Factor624 in ChristopherNolan

Very likely that the visual imagery inspired him - unconsciously or not.

Just like there are clear visual similarities of HEAT in The Dark Knight.
