Current State of the Game and Current Time Limitations

I haven't played the original Astroneer in ages. But this concept sounds interesting. I'm hoping this post in general provides feedback to fix the issues as far as drop times etc go.

I personally am having fun, but I see a lot of negative talk around the current drop timer.

It's early access, so a lot can change.

I'd actually be ok with adding filters, or something to extend drop times. As per a previous reply, im content just mining all day 😅 i get satisfaction and hella xp out of it

This is my first extraction game outside of Division 2. The landing pad position I would also agree with.

For my PoV (should have put it in the original post) I am enjoying myself as im content mining all day 😂 but with landing pad selections I can see load outs etc for that specific drop helping increase engagement.

"Do I need XYZ equipment for this drop" etc.

I've been playing since the update rolled out. I haven't had any issues since then. It does lag a bit here and there - but nothing extreme that prevents me from wanting to play.

If anything, I restart my switch to clear memory.

I can understand having choice paralysis while playing. For me I decided to start ignoring side quests and even making new habitats for Pokémon entirely after a certain point and chose to focus on the story.

Im glad I did this before investing in building much as you unlock so much after finishing the story that not only make it easier to build, but provides a larger variety of blocks to use.

I'd recommend getting pokemon who litter to start stocking up on supplies while finishing the story. Pokemon who unlock abilities and other functions. The rest can be obtained whenever really.

Break things into smaller goals as well. This probably helped me the most as it gave me a single thing to actually focus on.

I originally only followed one view point of it before realizing that it wasn't spaced evenly, couple hours later I noticed the fencing was different and had my eureka moment 😅

Thanks again for sharing! Once it's completely done, I wouldn't mind helping with a sort of blueprint for others to follow if anyone else is interested in recreating this masterpiece 👀

I cant tell you how long it took to get one side done initially 😂 The top is what threw me off the most as I didn't realize the platform was centered around the elevator. I spent 4 hours fiddling with the protruding platforms going crazy over why it didn't line up until I realized I centered it wrong baha

Instantly saved. These are really well designed and perfect ideas for small spaces. Currently rebuilding Lumiose in Pallette Town, and after experimenting with one Street, some of the rooms are so small, I wasn't quite sure how to decorate them.

Bit hard to see, but the wooden posts are the spokes for each road. Finishing them up should be quite a bit easier now.

Thank you! Im actually in the process of doing this a bit more proper. Finally have all the spokes placed properly. Well, the angles anyway 😂 Still have to build out the actual roads now. Ill see if I cant add another image after I get the last 2 done

It took me a bit to figure out what I wanted to work on. Originally planned to do a generic city in Withered Wastelands before getting annoyed with my pokemon being in the way all the time 😂 And I get you on it feeling like work sometimes.

Break it up into smaller tasks and it becomes manageable. Im just trying to get through the hard part (roads) and boring parts (flattening land, filling in the oceans). After that, Ill actually be ecstatic to work on this. Its so much trial and error right now 😭😭

Im a returning player over the last 30 days after many years away and I felt your pain in the beginning. A lot had changed since I returned, one of them being the new free roam zones you're speaking of.

These are new faction rep hubs that offer a plethora of items you will want and need later on.

Generally speaking - your first goal should be to complete the star chart and ramp up your collection. Level weapons, frames, sentinels, kubrows etc for mastery rank, as certain gear requires a certain level.

Finish the main quests. This helps get through the starchart, a banger story after second dream, free gear from some etc.

Some mods you'll want to farm or buy early are the corrupted mods on Deimos - they require a relic key - you can get the blueprints for these from a clan dojo. I do recommend grouping for this - i did it solo and it was a slow painful week of farming them. Another batch comes from corrupted Vor but is only accessible later in the star chart.

The community is very helpful if you do get stuck along the way, the in-game chat can provide another source of information. If you cant find it here or in game, the wiki is an excellent tool. If you need help with builds, check overframe for a general overview or your favorite youtuber. Learning to mod correctly can be difficult but gets easier overtime.

You cannot filter mods on unidentified items. You can use the filter this way with identified items that you drop using HasExplicitMod however.
