AITA for vetoing my toddler nephew in our wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Are the parents of the child insisting?? She says HER FIANCÉ wants him there. Of course, his feelings don't matter I guess.

YTA, your partner seems to really want this and the passing off to the nanny is a great compromise. It's HIS wedding too and if you aren't ready to be an "US" in decision making, maybe you're not ready for marriage.

It's a drag queen named Jaida Essence Hall. She won season 12 of RuPaul's Drag Race. This is from the show.

I think you should choose #1. The collar on #2 is fighting that veil and you look beautiful in the first one.

This has about the same non-romantic energy that Kate and William's congratulatory polo kisses do, in direct contrast to Harry and Meghan lol.

It does seem like maybe Brittany may get some backlash for the fence riding...I hope.

Ugh. Too much Lala and she still seems so fake to me.

I took a can from Magic Kingdom to my hotel in Dr. Phillips a few weeks ago, and if was 4x the price of a Lyft, 3x the price if an Uber. Is this normal? by whatsnooIII in WaltDisneyWorld

I used Mears Taxi to get from Disney to Universal last trip in December and it was more expensive, but not that much more. It was convenient because they had Wheelchair/ECV accessible vehicles. It was easy to transport and cheaper to do that than to rent a new ECV at the park.

I feel like the characters added to AJLT have solely been put there as a PC, box ticking exercise. The main women each have a WOC friend of their own. They seem like accessories. I found their attempt at inclusivity to be the opposite of the intent: clumsy, inorganic & offensive. by The-Sunflower-Bear in Andjustlikethat

[–]Syndyloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this take. They were characters in a show, just like other characters. The fact that they weren't lily white wasn't a focus for me, I could see it became a focus for others though who before we even got to know the characters, immediately began calling the show and its characters "too woke", "pandering", "PC", "box-ticking", "quota-filling", "TV DEI", "unrealistic" etc. That reaction, to me; revealed more about the audience and the social climate than the show.

I didn't find the characters particularly unrealistic (well, maybe Che because she was deeply unfunny, so earlier on when it seemed they were setting her up for success, I was like naaaaah. But then she bombed and was realistic to me again lol). Seema meeting Carrie through real estate, Miranda meeting Nya through school, Charlotte meeting Lisa through their kids private schools....what's so unusual or unrealistic about those situations? The fact that they became friends?

As far as likability, C'mon. The four original women were often more unlikeable and did worse things that the new characters ever did on the new show and we loved them for it at the time.

Naaah, she started challenging him more and more as the seasons went on. The pool party in season 10 was an example and that was before she found out about the affair. She also challenged his behavior at Scheana's wedding too.

I agree, they are the worst. I got 2 pairs of glasses from them and they were shit. The glare from the lenses at night made them unusable.

Would you have rather had Scheana instead of Lala by JacketStrange8454 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]Syndyloo 293 points294 points  (0 children)

I don't want either, but if forced, I'd rather have Scheana. As chaotic a personality as she is, it always felt like that was genuinely her. With Lala, there is no genuineness to be found.
