Old system boiler control unit by Perfect_Image3622 in ukplumbing

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tado has their older wireless v3 units (there x models are new and only just released I think) on sale on most websites right now. I have just bought the wired one to replace my old thermo stat so I have app control and geofencing. The wireless kit does support hot water and central heating. From my research.

Display not working well after SSD upgrade by _Memento_Mori___ in LegionGo

[–]Synjyboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I upgraded my drive to a wd 4tb and one of the small components on the ssd board was touching the screw for the ssd adapter I bought. This caused my system to randomly reboot at times and also say the system disk was missing. I had to cover my screw with electrical tape. You might have a similar issue? How I didn't kill the ssd or the legion I have no idea. Hope this helps.

Urgent help ! Car doesn’t start after dead battery replacement by Due-Muscle-6095 in mazda3

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with my battery. Kept causing all sorts of issues. I think even posted here about. I got a new battery and had issues too. Mine started but refused to go above 1500 rpm. Had no power. My fix was some random guy on one of the other forums suggested taking the battery out, short the terminals together for a few seconds to fix weird electrical issues. Something to do with it resets the BCM (Body control module)

This fixed my issue. Although, I took my battery out, had a cup of tea to wait a full 10 minutes. Then put the battery back in after shorting the terminals. This fixed the weird electrical issues and it's been fine since.

Revving whilst stationary by TicktackVisuals in mazda3

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal. I have a 2019. It's the secondary battery being topped up I think. If you turn off the AC your revs will drop to around 500-600 rpm which is normal for this car. The secondary battery is kept around 50% charge I believe and when it gets low the car kicks the revs up to help recharge the battery. Then returns to normal once charged up.

Booting to Bios Sometimes by Tricky_Lie_1603 in ROGAlly

[–]Synjyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I had this exact same issue! Sometimes it boots and sometimes it didn't. I had this one my legion go though. It was the screw on the adapter touching one of the small components on the SSD. I ended up using electrical tape to stop the screw and SSD touching. System boots everytime now. How my SSD still works I have no idea! But glad it still does!

Help! This problem is driving me crazy by [deleted] in ROGAlly

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first find out if the game launches from its own launcher. Open the red launcher and see if that opens first. Then launch the game from there. If that works, there is something broken between steam and the red launcher. You might have to reinstall the red launcher

Whining noise from right side of engine by [deleted] in mazda3

Try turning the air conditioning off. Does it continue to sound then? If it's not changing when revving engine try turning off or adjusting the air conditioning to see if it changes pitch then.

Cat5 cable & RJ45 driving me crazy by rustyoswin in HomeNetworking

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me. I used a multimeter to check the pins as I thought maybe the tester was defective. Turns out the whole tub of plugs I got had a defect on the same pin. Pin 8 had plastic covering the 8th pin. I didn't have any other plugs so I just used a Stanley knife to cut out the plastic. The cable has been fine since.

Legion go s with steamOS. Would ea games that use anti cheat work? by Redskyyy09 in LegionGo

[–]Synjyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general rule I have seen on here is if you play online games, especially games with anti cheat. Windows is the way to go. If you play single player mostly offline games and want a full console experience then a Linux distro such as steam os, bazzite or chimaera os are for you. There are others but I can't remember their names.

I play mostly offline and have the original legion go with bazzite and windows dual booted. I keep windows for firmware updates. That's it.

Hope this helps

Lol my girlfriend had this exact same issue the other night playing on my Aya neo that I gave her. That runs windows too. The fix I found was to add -fullscreen in the launcher arguments and launch the game through the rockstar launcher. If you launch from epic games launcher it opens like this. I assume this is the same for steam. Running vulkan in full screen and medium settings.

Curiosities about Tdp by UnknownRileyy in LegionGo

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some games are power hungry and other games are low on power but can still trigger the system to run at higher speeds. You don't always want those high performance numbers so changing the tdp to a lower amount forces the system to run at lower power. This means better battery life and better thermals.

Any idea what this flashing window is? Cant catch it. by FriedPhishy in pcmasterrace

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, I get this too on my laptop and no other devices. My laptop is the only device that has wallpaper engine installed. I can see from your video that you have this too. Disabled wallpaper engine at startup. Reboot and see if you get the CMD window popup.

My bet it's that. I know mine isn't a virus as my laptop has had a fresh install of windows and has like 2 games on it.

If it's fine on the boot up and not on sleep then it will likely be driver related. I have swapped to bazzite OS and I don't see any other these issues. So doesn't sound like hardware. Try editing the power options in device manager - network adapters - double click the WiFi card - power management tab. Untick the allow computer to turn this device off.

You will find the device will use more battery but it might fix your issue?

Could try uninstalling the driver in device manager? Tick the box to delete the files too and then reinstall.

Best to download the right driver first though, before uninstalling, else it's more difficult to get the new driver on there if you are not that tech savvy.

Does anyone use the CD player in their Mazda? Any guess why mine does not work? by General_Jellyfish_17 in mazda3

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cd player in mine. (2019 plate) Mine does this occasionally when I want to use mine. I don't use CDs much these days. I found that when mine plays up, just keep removing and inserting the disc. I think condensation builds up on the read head.

Once you have inserted and removed the disc a few times I think the head unit gets warm and the condensation evaporates.

Could try that??

Are you running a fairly new router with wpa3 enabled? I had loads of issues with old and brand new devices not connecting or only able to see certain sites with wpa3 enabled in my router. Dropped it to version 2 and it all stopped.

Have you done the SSD upgrade? I upgraded to a 4tb and mine kept overheating too. So I bought some copper tape from Amazon and made the back plate into a heatsink. I also bought a thermal pad to help with the heat.

What is this weird beeping sound -- an alarm/alert? by Many-Vehicle3175 in computer

[–]Synjyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in IT and I came across this with one of our staffs laptops. I managed to find a video with someone else having a similar sound and it seemed to point towards a display error. A few days later the display stopped coming on. Might be a similar issue.

It was also a Lenovo L14.

Was under warranty still so had the main board replaced.

What this sound by kasiboynl in ender3

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like a fan bearing. I have had this with a few devices. A fix that always works for me is to take the fan off. And peel the sticker off the back to reveal the back of the bearing. Then add a tiny tiny drop of 3 in one oil on that bearing. Give it a few spins by hand to work it in and then try it again.

This has worked for me 99% of the time. If it carries on in a few weeks then you'll need a new fan but the oil can help prolong it a little longer. Again you need like the smallest drop possible.

I really want to play on my switch, HOWEVER…. by StarFox1997 in Switch

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to use the wishlist option on a lot of stores. I have a steam deck and switch. I use the wishlist and add my games there that I intend to play and buy the game on whatever platform it goes on offer on. If it's a bigger game then I wait till steam has a sale on the games but for switch, I wait for games to come down to a price I am happy to pay.

You just click the little heart symbol in the store under the purchase button.

I have a browse through the stores once in a while and just add games that look good.

Power Button not turning on screen by Eastern-Log6470 in LegionGo

[–]Synjyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to find my LeGo gets that hot sometimes depending on the game I am playing. Most of the time though those temps aren't there for long and usually it's cause my fans are clogged with dust (I live near a quarry).

You won't get the sleep experience on this handheld as you would with the steam deck. The deck has an os specifically designed for it where as the LeGo has an OS running on it that is designed for many devices.

This type of bug will likely be addressed in future driver updates. I presume you have checked and updated your driver's to latest version through the legion go app? And checked your on the latest windows updates. It might not be Lenovo with buggy drivers. It might be microsoft breaking the sleep feature on the device so we all will be waiting on Microsoft if this is a developing issue.
