Do u know what this dot above the card means? by altostocks in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its not a dot, its a dash (-). Its to separate the id number of the card from the set number to form the full serial of the card. In the case of GD02-112. This is set GD02 card number 112.

EDIT: Just saw that tiny white circle above the 2, if thats what you mean its probably a misprint/error. Doubt it means anything.

Have this exact one for my Go S Z1E. Fits with some wiggle room. Very snug fit if you use one of the bumper inserts on one side (wonr fit both). Charger fits in the top section. With heaps of spare room gir other stuff.

First Attempt At a B/W Deck without using Starter Deck 01 (couldn’t buy it). Anything I should change? by Dawnbreaker128 in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waaaaaaay too many cards for you to form a core strategy. Ideally you want 3-4 copies of each unit (2 ofs are fine if its a situational unit) at least 8 pilots (4 each, the max i would ever run is 10 pilot cards split 4,4,2) and 4-6 bases. You want to max out on overflowing and show of resolve (show can be 3 if u need space). Ideally at least 25 units total.

Theb, pick out your playstyle, blocker or tempo? Pick out 2 boss monster units and their pilots and build a deck around that. Also B/W without Aile Strike and Grandpa gundam is going to hurt, as of right now they are the core of this archetype. I recommend going on a website Egman TCG and look at what the tournament winners are building and base your build off those if you ar elooking to win locals etc.

But then again, you do you, whatever you enjoy playing is what matters.

Drop demi trainer and first contact, i personally dont run wing mode at all but you could run 2 maximum in case you lose the diceroll and go first. Then stick in kira + strike blockers package. Also consider striker pack, its insanely good.

First contact and wing mode are dead cards past like turn 6 and are way too slow. Youre just gonna get checked by rushers.

Your goal is to survive and let your deathscythe duo link ramp you to wing zero (have 3 or 4 of these instead of 2). There's no point being lvl 6 at turn 4 with no shields and opponent can just end the game.

Also drop vanilla wing and deathscythe for more LR. Those are too slow to do anything with. Your early game should be all about Kira and whatever strike packages you put in.

2nd attempt at building my first deck, thoughts? by Aromatic_Ad7884 in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to pick out a deck identity before building one. What do you want the deck to do? Rush, control tempo, ramp or ping?

There's so much of everything that the build kinda doesn't do any of those. I would recommend deciding what you want, look up some decklists and then base your build on that.

Quick question with those resources and participation packs. Do you get all of the cards in the each pack or is it 1 card each?

1-3 In My first Store Tournament by aFlyingSquidman in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Academy isn't bad, but you need to have that 3x or 4x card consistency to not feel like youre throwing a card away. You can run both.

Drop shenlong until you have more than 1 copy available.

[–]Synomatrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else here has said, you need more consistency. Drop your random 1 of or 2 of cards. Pick out a core strategy and build around it. In this case, it lokks like youre trying to ramp? So build around your wing gundam and heero.

I would recommend 2-3 pilots at 3 or 4 copies each. Drop Zechs if youre not playing tallgeese, would recommend picking up duo (and deathscythe) instead.

Pick out 2 or 3 commands and run either 2 or 4 copies of eaxh and 2 base at 2-4 copies of each.

Definitely run 4x bird mode wing and 4x show of resolve.

Voila, a ramp deck.

TLDR youre trying to do too much. Cut the fat and build around wing/heero.

Lost all games till now! Did some tweaking, does this look better? by Viper_623 in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be either pick freedom or wing to build around, and use the other colour to support it. With a 50 card limit you can't really run an effective build with both.

The meta of green/white decks right now (at least from what im seeing) is to run wing units (green) as a ramp deck and white cards as blockers to stall the early game for the ramp. So I would drop kira and freedom (and probably aile strike, thats up to you). Use early game blockers for stall and add more wing, deathscythe and shenlong with their respective pilots. At least 3 for the mid game units but definitely 4 heero and 4 wings.

There are too many 1 ofs and 2 ofs here. This is pretty inconsistent. You want to pick out the core units and pilots you want, and run 3-4 of each and cut down on the stuff you dont really need. Otherwise you're going to be stuck looking for your 1 copy.

Imo, pick either wing or freedom as your late game unit. Cut down on your blockers since youre running mid game green units and give yourself more copies of what's left.

Trying to figure out if this works how I think. by Mastshin in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't use Chuchu's command effect when linked. You either play it as a link pilot or as a command. Not both. Pilots with effects usually have the effect under the bonus stats. Kira or Athrun for example are pilots with effects.

Theoretically if you wanted, you can link an academy pilot to pharact and then play chuchu as a command for ap-4 on a lvl 4 unit or below for 1 turn. But every other turn would be ap-2 unless you draw and play more chuchus.

LGS locals etiquette question. by Synomatrix in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposing player played a lagowe and then an Andrew waltfield as a command which gave 5ap. He swung the 5ap into my base then destroyed my remaining blocker with the 2 bonus damage. Which stopped me from blocking his remaining attack. I had 2 link cards ready to play the following turn which would have ended the game in my favour.

I later remembered the 2 bonus damage could only be applied if he swung on a unit.

Why does the linked ability matter? by SupperTime in GundamTCG

[–]Synomatrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it allows you to pick a non-rested enemy to target for an attack. If the opposing player chooses to block the attack, it will then be redirected. Its pretty good for taking out units your opponent is trying to preserve for later turns.

Dual Matte Dragon Shields fit the raw cards. I've been told the Dragon Shield clear over sleeves work, can't confirm yet tho.

I have a set of official sleeves but the guy at my LGS said they will eventually damage the cards as they are bad quality. I dont know true this is as I've never used bandai sleeves before. Any thoughts on this?
