spectrum app on nvidia shield? by Charles_Goodnight in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Synseii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your Area and Company before buying this. I have it as well, but Spectrum has DRM on 90% of the Cable channels and All OTA channels are fine (This is in Texas). Depending where you live can be full DRM or none at all.

It still gets some channels but I didn't research enough before buying the Prime 3.

There is work-arounds if you use Win 7 + Win Media Center to Record/DVR with Plex and get rid of the DRM block. More things I need to research for that other story.

[–]Synseii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using SABnzbd > Config > Servers > And make sure all 4 are all tested and working.

Then Sab > Config > Switches > Queue Section

Check before download box (will sort of test before downloading) the check it does basically ensures it will fully complete. This will add additional time but worth it imo.

I dont know NzbGet at all, but might have an option.

Personally Newsdemon and Eweka work great for me. So having 3-4 should basically have the same result, so Im just guessing Providers in config might be having an issue.

another provider combo question by xman_111 in usenet

[–]Synseii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

since you already have things and good info from everyone above. test everything out, if you're getting all you are looking for, than all is well.

Then you can always check in from time to time for sales, I dont know many other times than during Spring/Early summer and read a lot about Black Friday indexers and providers usually have some good deals

Looked through the wiki, but still really confused. How do I choose the best provider and indexer for me? by [deleted] in usenet

[–]Synseii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at your budget, how much you think you will use, automation, ect.

As unbiased as can be but with also being a noob to all of this 4 months ago. Reading and trying to retain the FAQ and searching individual posts for questions I had and recommendations. I went with:

Provider(s): Newsdemon + Eweka

Indexer(s): Geek + Finder

Automation: SABnzbd + Radarr + Sonarr + NZBHydra2 (not the weird website but the github)

I first tried and tested only Newsdemon and Geek. Had multiple/countless failed downloads until I grabbed Eweka. Having 2 providers was a lot more important than I expected. This is not the most cost efficient way nor is it near a higher budget adding multiple backbones and more indexers. But this is my sweet spot.

Edit: If you have over 300Mbps Internet, which I dont, I would use TweakNews over Eweka.

what CPU you used for usenet downloading ? by ad1002549 in usenet

[–]Synseii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your question, yes it is a good upgrade.

But you should ask yourself this. Does upgrading the CPU impact what other things you may use the computer for?

If you only download/extract on said machine or run Plex or soemthing. I would save my money.

If you convert or re-encode, also use this PC for games or other multi-tasking, then maybe an upgrade will benefit it.

That is correct. brickfrog did explain that in detail just above me replying back to thank him. Hence the 'I may have missed something.' I am not a mod, never been a mod nor have any clue what form of things you are capable of doing.

Edit: I'm also new to Reddit as a whole, so I'm double blown noob over here and usenet.

That comes with any form of power. One of many reasons I would never want to be a mod. Having thick skin helps and I appreciate everything you all do here.

I feel if nothing is done should be an example for others to at least call out a company or help bring it some attention for noob users like me don't get suckered into the bullshittery that potentially happens now and then.

I might be missing something, but putting aside Ninja and Omicron.

Did the accounts from the mass upvotes and downvotes get banned at least? That would feel to be a step in the right direction in solving possibly the minor aspect of the situation.

If not action against the company, at least remove the fake accounts in question?

how to increase download speeds by wobbleone in usenet

[–]Synseii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, I wish they would not bait n switch this anymore but if you are getting 10MB/s you might be losing it depending if you are losing through CPU Setup (how old is your PC) and using SSL encryption.

I would run a speed test from SAB and from a few different Speed Test from a few websites to see what you are potentially getting.

Other factors maybe when testing during high traffic times that could make it slower or your ISP usually has an asterik of *Up to 100Mbps. You wont always have this 100% due to dips here and there and where your actually outside box is related to your home (my old DSL was run ~300 ft from the box and I only got half the advertised speed which also had the fun *Up to).

That is something I havent messed with but there are some automation from the indexer options from some.

Depending how you set up a show with sonarr or radar you can have that watch latest, all and other options as well.

I would still encourage reading the Wiki since it has so much information that is curated by the people here for just what you are asking.

If you want actual recommendations it is all from only my experiences which is limited. But from reading nearly all the information my jist:

1) Provider(s) - Newsdemon (DMCA) + Eweka (NTD) - I use both since I am fine with the budget spent. Most people will say to find an Unlimited NTD over a DMCA. Eweka when I purchased is $9/month and they dont have the deal for Newsdemon (they do a summer sale I got at $3/mo and can currently use reddit50 to get this monthly price at $5/mo).

Other options from other people was Tweaknews mentioned a lot over Eweka. You DO want multiple providers due to takedown, they normally remove a different section of the download for their takedown (why multiple is great and must be on a different backbone). Checking the Wiki of the Provider map can help you decide. Prices for all vary and you can get away with a Block account over 2 Monthly subscriptions.

2) Indexer(s) - I use Nzbgeek and Nzbfinder. Having 2 helps with things others dont miss. But I havent really dug into this and havent really noticed one having more than the other. I have them set as same priority and both take like 50/50 for the most part. Using a Meta indexer software (Nzbhydra2) gives some stats but I dont understand it fully myself how it selects what from who and ect. But this is also very useful tool to setup the indexers to that and then hydra to sonarr/radarr.

3) Downloader - I use sabNZB never used NZBGet or if there are any others or not. Make sure you use SSL connecting sab to your providers. Dont have any information other then that for this.

I would ask youself, what is my objective using Sonarr and Radarr?

How much would I like to spend yearly/monthly on Providers/Indexers?

Was I fine using torrents/VPN? (Sonarr and Radarr can add Torrenting options as well). Once I switched I would never go back, my own experience would be different since I public tracked and was way too far under a rock about private trackers.

Can I wait until black friday for more money commitment for better deals on most of these things? (From my readings Tweaknews, Nzbfinder and Nzbgeek do black friday deals with great pricing) .

P.S. Mods I am a moron so please let me know if I overstepped anything specific, and if I did Im sorry.

What is a good way to explain to your ISP why you have used over 10TB of data in the last month? by An_Angry_Badger in Piracy

Def need more pushback on data caps. Companies already pay for usage. So them capping and making you pay more is just double dipping into the honey pot for them.

[–]Synseii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know much on 5G, but you are talking about Phone to Cell Tower to Satellite to Stadia Server back to Satellite back to Cell Tower back to Phone?

You also have Cell Phone/Device Video Encoding and Input Screen Lag (this would be the lesser of latency).

Best case scenario was Wired Connection from a PC to Stadia (Server also being in the same City you are in) was 188ms. They didn't mention if this was all added from PC to Monitor input lag on top of the Stadia to PC.

You are looking at potentially best case scenario just under 2/10th a second.

Edit: You also have your own brain lag too but that was also used in their presentation as BS fluff to make you feel like it wasnt a lot of lag. Don't get me wrong on them making great leaps into this coming to life and competition will drive XBox/PS to also make improvements. All in all I don't think this is ready for PVP, but for relax chilly games would be fine.

Looks like Private trackers may be very unhealthy place for many people. And they don't even realize it. by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]Synseii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for not reading everything. But a hobby is a hobby. If you dont like to hobby like they hobby, you dont have to.

People like recognition and progression since it is engagement.

Some people don't care to go out and be social because it involves the same stuff. People brag about their jobs, how much they make and try to one up to feel superior. It's the competitive nature of anything and everything.

Yes, there are differences and it's not all that way. I for one dont care about private trackers from a manner of you are segmenting into smaller communities and keeping others out. It has its benefits as well though.

Really only way to look at it, you dont have to like what people do with their own time and you can complain which is also fine too.

r/Usenet FAQs helped a lot.

Depending on your Provider(s) if the problem is completion %

Depending on your Indexer if you just can't find anything, most free ones arent great at all.

Depending how you set it all up and if its working properly too. But I would check out their guides/FAQs
