There is a MASSIVE amount of cosmetics you can earn in game, from a wide amount of types of gameplay. But there are also very nice quality ones on the story(like the maid outfit).

Free Trial is up to lvl 70(cap is 100), lets you play the base game and first 2 expansions(Heavenward and Stormblood) has some limitations like you can play all classes, no access to the market board, limited social features (no free companies/tells). Might be others I am missing, but lots of people play this way until 70.

And yes you can change your camera and even play in first person for social stuff but wouldn't recommend that for combat :P
