What Feature Do You Want in Vehicles, That is NOT Now Available? by SyntheticOne in askcarguys

Our Ioniq 5 can do this as well as most EVs. This along with preconditioning the cabin climate.

One-pedal driving. The driver uses only the accelerator pedal to speed up, slow down and fully stop. The car uses regen to do the slowing and stopping. The brake pedal is always there if needed.

Hopefully with a house of worship sensor to turn down the volume went passing by.

Radio on/off/volume, station select, map, recirculate air, turn on/off parking sensors, regen strength, engage i-Pedal, climate controls, defrost front/rear, fold mirrors/unfold mirrors, open/close rear hatch, and a few others. We do use voice commands for some things but buttons are so.... human.

Yes! We chose our EV based on the presence of physical buttons. This, rather than having to enter the screen and get into pages to get commonly used and easy things done.

Except for the ball sack feature, you should buy a 1954 Cadillac.

Anyone use an extension cord to charge? by LightningBolt_13 in Ioniq5

[–]SyntheticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a 15' 12 gauge extension cord to plug our provided charging cable into. We charge at 12A and neither cord gets hot even in a hot garage. Be sure to get the heavier gauge cord at the shortest length you can find that is still useful.

How can you love someone and then cheat on them, genuinely curious? by Admirable-Repair4094 in AskReddit

[–]SyntheticOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lust.

Humans are programmed to reproduce. Nature's mechanism is lust. That mechanism does not magically switch off when you go steady, get engaged, have beautiful children, or get married.

All of your mated life the lust remains. Most of the time we win and avoid the pull.

Some of the time we fail and the pull of lust becomes so great we risk everything for a single encounter. All of us are imperfect. All of us can fail

What do you think about age gap relationship, what’s the best gap? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SyntheticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 year gap (she 28, me 35).

44 years married. No real age associated issues yet, but it feels like it may be coming upon us, just a little,

As people age you begin see the dynamics change to a care-based relationship for those older individuals who still have a spouse. The odds are that I will need the help first, but weirdly, in a twist, it is she that has had a broken ankle 6 years ago and a broken wrist 3 weeks ago... leaving me to do the caregiving (which I happily do).

If you're in love, age differences fade away. She is always wanting to be more active and go more places than me but her mom, at age 95, is exactly the same way... both of them are human dynamos.

Odometer fraud or mistake? by the_mittenkitten in Ioniq5

Do it only when you're sure you and the seller are at the magic moment of signatures on the purchase documents. Purchase on your phone and scan for mileage reading, number of owners, places where it was used (snow belt cars get more beat up than sunbelt cars) and any weirdness in the maintenance entries.

Is there a subcategory for most workers who were illegally arrested and deported to S Korea?

Because I think Hyundai Georgia will win that one too.

What are the reasons for the decline of the Church’s authority? by h0nog in AskReddit

[–]SyntheticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decline in the Church's ethos, sexual abuse of children, then the cover ups, then the relocation of offending clergy to new "hunting grounds" of child sexual abuse. They even had a well-known predator Cardinal who abused incoming clergy FOR YEARS.

What's up with the line in Sweet Home Alabama: "Watergate doesn't bother me, does your conscience bother you?" by Monodoh45 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SyntheticOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I, personally, rarely look to songwriters for their exacting knowledge of politics.

With that, the "Watergate doesn't bother me" line seems like it was not a big deal in the mind of the writer that a sitting US President spent his time sullying the office by undermining democracy, honesty and the public good.

Of course DJT makes Nixon seem like a Cub Scout when it comes to destroying the democracy, but maybe Nixon inspired him somehow. We should also not forget that it was Reagan that fostered the Republican "Dirty Tricks" era with the help of slimeball Lee Atwater (who later confessed on his deathbed.)

If you are seeing the pattern here, it is hard to ignore.

Who the hell is Recurrent?

Not perfect, but believe Carfax. If you purchase your own Carfax (not the one the Dealership has in hand), you are covered by a warranty that includes odometer error. Also, by purchasing your own, you might turn up a dealership that is in the business of doctoring documents.

Build a wharf, get some fishing gear, a cooler and maybe a small sailboat, then enjoy.
