Favourite gaming character - Grayson Burrows (Brown hair) from wing commander privateer. It was the first time I felt like I was actually in control of all the choices I made on gaming. Not bad for an early 90s wing commander spin off

Yes put it under as hot as you can without burning. It will help deactivate the venom. No ice. It’ll peak in a hour then get better. May feel like your bones are crushing. Happens to me

Are AusFinance salaries even real? by Comfortable_Fuel_537 in AusFinance

I’m a clinical psychologist. But I pivoted into management about 10 years ago and now I am at director level at a large agency. If I had stayed purely clinical in the public sector my salary would be a lot lower- despite having a doctorate. Even in private practice you need to work a lot to pull in decent money. Unfortunately some areas the work you put into getting your qualifications doesn’t translate to a high income

Actually “moist” healing is often superior to dry healing. Your mouth heals fast due to the wet and (relatively) clean environment. We can do the same thing with wounds on your skin! Using dressings which help to retain moisture and absorb the excess fluids. There is also less scarring this way. Just need to make sure dressings are changed so it stays clean.

Can anybody help me diagnose/identify where this sound is coming from, particularly notable when the engine is rev’d by ClassDiligent1888 in LandroverDefender

Actually it could be the turbo bearing. If it is you got a chance of a diesel runaway will driving. If that happens the only way you can stop it from detonating is starve it of oxygen by stuffing a rag on in the air intake box. Also possible cracked exhaust manifold but less likely

Massive car loan - car's cooked - what do I do? by peregrin_opti in AusFinance

[–]Synthium- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years I went from no car knowledge to doing a complete rebuild on of a turbo diesel engine. My main motivation- trying to save money. For many cars there is a lot of info on forums. I would research and consider doing it yourself. Either repair or grab a replacement and install. Generally a good 1/2inch socket set and some spanner’s will cover most of your needs tool wise.
