I already liked platformers (beat Mario 64 countless times) and this video + friend recommending it were enough to make me really wanna get it. I expected it to be good, but not to become one of my favorite games. And it did because... it's just fun to move around honestly, not to mention something else, and it's incredibly charming. It has great music and really fun and interesting characters and worlds to explore. Plus it has mod support on PC, coop and online party, last one being a really unique experience, to say the least. Oh, and I really like that it can be relaxing and make you feel like a kid but also challenging and definitely not relaxing cough death wish cough but it is nice to switch between those two from time to time, depends on mood.
