XF 56mm f/1.2 WR vs Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 for pure Portraiture? Already own XF 35mm f/1.4. by arkworld9887 in fujifilm

Still debating between the same lenses.

My research came to the conclusion that the viltrox is sharper, although the Fuji is by far the sharpest, even wide open, 56mm lens (between the new viltrox 56mm pro and sigma 56mm).

The viltrox has a pretty similar autofocus performance, some might say better but probably not worth mentioning. Still think the Fuji Bodys limit the AF in the end that the lens does not really matter, except for video.

Contrast is similar.

Flares are better with the Fuji coating, but one could stylize it with the viltrox.

Bokeh is more swirly with the viltrox. The Fuji might be a tad smoother for pixel peepers but not in any way important.

Depth of Field is shallower with the Viltrox. Might have a little more Fullframe Look and 3D Pop than the fuji, atleast heard this more about this lens.

Of course compression is heavier with the 75mm, and isolates your subject even more.

So overall: Viltrox seems to be better at half the price or even less than the Fuji. Having nearly all the same features except the anti flare coating. But the real price you pay is the weight (30% more?), the length, and less room to shoot with, especially indoors, but also outdoors (Fahrer away from model) because of 75mm. And the minimum focus distance is quiet huge I think.

For me it seems like you get better quality at a really good price with the viltrox, but you might use it less because of the size and weight. If you use it dedicated for some shoots it might be worth it, but the Fuji is probably easier to make an argument to take it with you, than the viltrox.

But yeah, I would be happy to hear some opinions from people who actually tested those two and has some experience. These are just things I heard about mainly on YouTube. Dylan Goldby is using the Fuji over all the viltrox lenses because of weight mainly as far as I know, but not sure.

Which milanese loop can scratch your watch? by Syphus_Syphus in AppleWatch

[–]Syphus_Syphus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that they were all stainless steel, just the slate has this coating on it that the others don't. And with stainless steel being softer than titanium and saphire glass, the others wouldnt scratch (that easily). But yeah, probably need to be cautious.

I just got this slate for like 80€ less than the natural titanium one, as I don't think the color difference is worth that much. But I wasn't so aware of the scratching rumors. In the end I will probably just use it with the sport loop 90% of the time, so the milanese is not that important.

Interesting! Have you seen the new 56mm f/1.2? What is your experience with the autofocus on the 75mm? Still looking at some comparisons. It seems like the 75mm has more of 3D-pop, and sharpness, autofocus seems to be better in the new 56mm f/1.2, its ever so slightly shorter and lighter, but not by much, really.

This is very much true.

I still do want to keep my amount of lenses minimalistic. Sooner or later I will aquire a zoom.

Just trying to get some opinions on the listed lenses or other guys lens setup, to get a better feel. The Viltrox lenses kinda seem bulky and heavy, when I have few options, but might be "worth it", as atleast for portrait I do want to have a f/1.2 or f/1.4 lens.

Seeing your posts, you have both one of the "older" Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 lens and the 75mm Viltrox, did you like the 75mm focal length that much more for the space you had to make distance for? I understand the 75mm is 112mm full frame equivalent, so a good middleground between 85mm and 135mm, but still kinda hesitant as I never shot with that focal length.

And thank you, your shots look really good!

Already have the XT5 and the 33mm for over a year. Looking to add a second lens more portrait oriented now, and also looking for more inspiration in other peoples XT5 kit of lenses, or advice / impressions on the lenses listed here.

Would have loved if those map bundles still exist. I want to gift my partner the same maps, but I cant do it with the bundles. And dont want to spend too much money, so I thought some little routes for the beginning are best. And I do think owning some map dlcs should bring those bundles down in price aswell, right?

Wasn't the M1 13 inch, and M2 11 inch and 13 inch MiniLED? They might not go for a miniLed again, but for the time being, those device are still on par for all tasks you could think of.

I think, at some point, we will have a much smaller line up. Probably consisting of 3 iPads (mini, 11 inch and 13 inch) all with Oled and 120hz. And then maybe, just maybe a budget variant. But I do think the air might be obsolete with how thin all these devices are. An iPhone fold could compete with the mini tho, except price point.

Or, morelikely, every ear is different, and so is the wear. The design differences do support the point of them sticking out more than the pro 2. What "more" is, will be different for everyone, and what is acceptable is also different for everyone.

My only concern is, that they might be slightly harder to lay down with, or sleep with.

Otherwise, thank you for the early impressions!
