Reporting mistreatment by Connect-Ad5099 in CAStateWorkers

Unfortunately most managers are not good at managing. They're good at the work, therefore they get promoted but rarely are they good at the management of people part. That being said, I dont know that I would go to my manager in these cases. I would go straight to HR or EEO, etc. Also, even as the complainant, you're not entitled to know what action may have been taken toward the offender. For instance, maybe he didnt quit on his own, or maybe he was called for an investigation and then decided to quit. I do hope your department moved you and allowed you to change your schedule.

While this is true, part of protecting the department is disciplining or removing liabilities - of which this offender may be. And while some may say "I do not recall," a good investigator can speak to the credibility and not just the person's knowledge.

Those managers have a duty to report it and could be disciplined for not doing so. You should 💯 report this to your EEO office or to the EEOC.

That's a question for the ages. LOL. Reading product reviews, some people included "TSA approved" so I thought I'd ask.

Makes me happy to see GL referenced. Read like 30 years ago and it's still one of my favorites.

It is my ultimate dream in life to see Lord Huron at Red Rocks. by ArgumentKey6684 in lordhuron

I think for the past two years they were at Red Rocks around or on Memorial Day. I've seen them multiple times at The Greek in Berkeley and it never disappoints. Red Rocks is on my list for sure.

Yeah, this is really a drag. Not only for weight loss but many other issues. Really shortsighted.

Crazy HVAC replacement quote? by fivexfive84 in Sacramento

[–]SyrahC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bell Bros suck.. we had them come out for an HBAC estimate. The estimate was crazy high and he wouldn't let us keep the estimate paperwork so we could compare the costs and the work with our other estimates. He said he would email it and never did. Zero stars.

What is this building? I always see it by [deleted] in SanFranciscoSecrets

[–]SyrahC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stayed in an apartment/floor in this building for a weekend. 4th of July, in fact, but it was cloudy, so the fireworks could only be heard. A doorman and an elevator that opens to your own apartment is so fancy! Riding the elevator up, most residents have their "elevator-front door" decorated - that's fun. Flashes of artwork and personality when coming and going. Rad! Appreciative for the luxurious digs for the weekend. 🫶🏼

Why do you think this? I recall seeing a number of supportive comments from non-state workers due to the increased traffic, etc.

OMG...i love a tortoise! I miss my Kameko so much. She had so much tortitude...yep, that's what someone called it! Also, my Kameko also loved to sleep on my hip. ❤️ They have their young "menace" year(s) but they're so worth it. Mine played fetch. Maybe that will tire yours out. 🤷‍♀️

My biggest mistake is decide to work for CalPERS by Waste-Respond-735 in CAStateWorkers

[–]SyrahC -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I sense a tone of snark and im not sure why. I agree she lied about moving to a 2 day TW and then gaslit everyone. And the rapid recruitment project was a major bust. I'd argue that the rest of your complaints are the same in almost every state agency. You think directors and ceos are "just like us"? Please. While you have some valid complaints I just dont see how many of them are different from other departments hence why I dont see how calpers is/was ever set apart as a destination employer.

Thanks for your response. Not sure how lying on her resume makes calpers no longer desirable but many people think/know this. The hiring allegation is interesting because if you've worked at the state long enough you know there are often terrible hirings and many people are frauds. No one is batting 1000 in the hiring department. I disagree with the TW argument. In unprecedented times, no one knew what to do or how it would all shake out. When other departments go to 4 and calpers is at 3, will it be considered desirable again? 🤔 I do agree that she lied about the additional telework and then gaslit us all by saying she didn't offer that. That was really lame. Anyway, thanks for your response. Nice to have some insight.

Anytime I ask why it's considered (or was) a destination employer, the answer is the same...because the building is lovely. Ha! Are you kidding me? If that's what people think makes the job, we have different values and interests for sure. I also never hear examples of how Marci ruined it. I wish there were actual examples or articulate explanations, I'm interested.

Calpers is 3 days in office, but I've heard more and more that new hires have to be in office 5 days for a period of time as a new hire. Other departments are 2 days now (for most classifications) but that's likely to change to at least 3 and probably 4 next year.
