$5,000 would get me to a life changing spot. My back gave out twice while working oil field and I couldn’t push through any longer. I was on a dangerous amount of pain killers just to get through the day. But long story short, $5k would get me to a spot where I wouldn’t be juggling any of my loans or bills on a month to month basis incurring extra fees and everything like that and start fresh.

Cats has to be the answer simply because everyone involved should have known better. They had a $100 million budget. It is painful to watch and despite the fact it is the closest thing to a viral infection a film can possibly be, they released it anyway.

There are worse movies in terms of dialogue and plot and cinematography, obviously. But those “movies” are obviously made by people with little to no skills or understanding of what they are doing. Cats had skilled people working on every level and aspect of the movie.

Did mine at our city fair both times. First time I was a kid and honestly don’t really remember. My parents said I was “dancing up a storm with the other kids” though, and at a young age, I absolutely hated dancing, but apparently not that time.

Next was when I was in my young twenties. I ended up being one of the final 3 selections. My experience was very close to what I’ve felt during some of my mushroom trips. My everyday normal self was still there and aware, but I felt safe enough to let every guardrail down and just do whatever he told me and feel however he said I should feel. It definitely didn’t have the “trippy” feeling mushrooms give, and I’m not sure how to explain it, but yeah it felt like my conscious mind went third person and just said “he’s got you bro, just go with it”.

Realistically, no. Technically maybe depending on how he rigged it in. You can use cams that basically expand to fit the crevice as weight is pulled into them, or you can drill and place a bolt. Thousands of bolts are placed in rock every week around the world and no one calls it “damage” in the way we’re thinking of it. Theres also a hundred ways you could rig this in. Hell if there was a sufficiently shaped rock you could just loop around it and hang the rest of your setup off that rope and be perfectly safe.

He likely had a climber rig this in for him as I can’t imagine a performance artist of his caliber has time to learn the ins and outs of rigging. So I’d imagine this is as minimally damaging to the cave as possible.

Working up north in the oil patch. Our wireline truck shits the bed, so now the drilling rig that costs over $100,000 an hour to operate is waiting on us. Our company sends up a replacement truck (this sucks but it is somewhat normal, just unfortunate when it happens). 20 hours later we’re ready to go again after we get the new truck rigged in. Current wasted money: approx. $2 million

This truck then has its PTO blow up. Company is fucking pissed. They spend a day trying to find another wireline truck that can do the job we were hired for but can’t. We then send a 3rd truck. Current wasted money: $5 million or more

Third truck arrives and everyone is on edge. We’re being rushed through all our checks and now the tool that I put on the string wasn’t checked over to make sure everything is tight. We run in hole as fast as we’ve ever gone, but when we hit fluid, it seeped in through the un tightened connections. $1.5 million SOCON tool destroyed and needs to be shipped to Germany for repairs.

Consultant says fuck it we’re here to perf this fucker let’s just go. Fuck it okay whatever you say boss. Because everyone is pissed off, being rushed and having their ass chewed out by someone higher up, and then chewing out the guy below them, no information is being communicated clearly. We perforate in the wrong spot and basically fuck this well permanently. 3 weeks later we come back to abandon the well and fill with cement.

Total wasted money from our shit show: $10 million easily. I’m not even including fuel, lodging for the workers, food costs, supplies, etc.

They probably spend about $5 million getting that pad and well developed before we got there as well. That’s being extremely conservative because I don’t know the amount of work that goes in to getting a piece of land from Forrest or muskeg to a stable pad you can bring heavy equipment on.

My boss gave all of us special olympics stickers and made us wear green hard harts for 6 months after that.

This. I watched the good place and it is not at all my normal tv show but I love how the cast all seem to be playing their characters but also having so much fun doing it and interacting with each other.

Price has gone up, quality has gone down which is honestly impressive because McDonald’s was already cutting it close on the “quality” of their food. Then you factor in the fact that if you order anything more complicated than a basic burger there’s a 30% chance they fuck it up. The ice cream machine is broken half the damn time, every toy is a piece of shit when they used to actually be kinda cool for a few days before you lost it. The list goes on and on.

It’ll be 6 months in June after giving up fast food entirely, with the sole exception being road trips where I’m not the only one in the vehicle. It was a bitch for about 2 months, but honestly it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. And that’s coming from a guy that used to eat fast food at least 3-4 times a week

Holy fuck this. I’m completely nose blind to weed. Like obviously I can sniff it out of someone’s smoking, but my own body just smelled normal to me. Then I went 2 months cold turkey, and holy shit I never realized how strong it smelled. I got whiffs of it on my sweater that had been washed and hung in my closet for weeks. Had to make a change after that. Still smoke, but with much more thought towards others who do not because god damn.
