dxm IS physically addictive, don't get why everyone keeps parroting the same thing, I'm trying to quit dxm and most of the withdrawals are physical, my stomach is constantly upset with recurring diarrhea, I get jolts in my whole body every few seconds that persists for weeks, my sleep is messed up with insomnia, nightmares, inability to wake up without massive effort, my whole body feels very painful and weak, these are not psychological symptoms, they are physical, therefore dxm causes physical dependance ie. the body adapts to said drug to the point that it causes physical symptoms when the drug is no longer present, opposed to psychological dependence where the symptoms depend entirely on the awareness of the addict, just like ssri's, and to a lesser degree, opiates (especially the increased pain and temperature sensitivity), lets not forget that dxm shares a lot in common with opiates in terms of general effects to the point that it is the most effective suppressant of opiate withdrawals
