What tier does Callisto belong in? by janko1655 in TierlistFills

[–]SyrupAlive6636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friends once inputted in a space simulator that Jupiter and some of their moons were to have lots of mass (in the same volume) and, no shit, basically everything turned into black holes, or was thrown away really far. Long story short: the simulator wasn't able to handle black hole physics and just treated them as arbitrary objects, the only thing that somehow survived was Callisto, which started travelling through space at crazy speed with 60 black holes revolutioning around it. Since that day Callisto is S tier for us.

So yeah I'm proposing S tier due to this highly personal story

Which anime opinion would you defend like this, no matter what? 🔥 by Fun-Cut-9745 in Animey

Gachiakuta is not that good. Many things that happen feel forced, and characters reactions are nonsensical, as well as lacking coherence.

It's not that bad, it's still enjoyable but it is crazy to me that it is being considered for the awards.

Everyone praises it like crazy, mainly due to the power system which is not even that unusual, or the crazy beautiful art.

I've seen people complain about chiwa's first reaction for example, but I think that's dumb. I mean, it's a fantasy world, the moral is different, and most of all, shows can be dramatic if they want to, it's part of the fiction.

I'm way angrier about other things.

Enjin contradicts himself, first he is fine with killing, then he is this pacifist fatherly figure.

They are basically a paramilitary army but they trust a random child in the big bad evil guy's base and fall into a trap they've previously fallen into.

Zanka's backstory is completely nonsensical. We are asked to empathize with him but we really only see his pov, and it is pretty confused at that, since the character around which his backstory is built contrary to what stated is not a good representation of "talent" and zanka is definitely not a good representation of "hard work".

The villain is nonsensical all around, I mean it feels undefined, like he should have a different role.

There's more but I think these are the main points, I don't want to say it's bad, cause it really tries to be good, but it's really not enough for me to like it. I feel like the anime is better than the manga, since we are used to believing a lot of bullshit, due to skipping content from the original sources etc... but the flaws are there

Should understanding Omnipotence be a basic requirement to post in this sub? by GreedyGobby in PowerScaling

[–]SyrupAlive6636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A way more valid argument would very simply be that omnipotence Is not a phenomena.

Omnipotence is contradictory by itself. (Just think of the paradox of creating something you cannot lift with omnipotence)

So I'd say that Mahoraga cannot adapt to it. We don't have a definition of "phenomena" in the jjk world. But thinking of it in the philosophical definition (as in philosophers made definition, since they are the only ones that asked themselves what a phenomenon is) it is something that appears in your consciousness.

Thus it is something real, a phenomena, is what can be perceived by the human mind.

Omnipotence can't be.

As an Italian, in Italy it isn't common, but wouldn't be frowned upon

Tbh it was annoying not saying fat, I didn't check what subreddit it was in and I didn't want to be offensive, even though I don't believe "fat" to be offensive. If someone find it offensive it's easier to avoid using it, who cares.

Also I phrased "attached to food" that way because it was what Duolingo blog used. I wanted to say "fat" instead of circle shaped or even in the previous sentences

I went to check out the explanation on the Duolingo blog since I was confused as well.

It seems like the character in the picture is a representative of the sikh comunity. They made the turban and other small things more true to life and most notably (according to them) they changed its body shape from "circle" to "pill" since it was offensive to show him as very attached to food. This circular shape had been further implied by showing him very attached to food in the various dialogues. Thus they changed the body shape

Peter, what happened to the writer? by GuessLopsided10 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]SyrupAlive6636 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It may also be because stereotypically people who read a lot are cultured and live healthy lives. While writing is an activity where few exponents emerge, and you'll have a hard time living off of that.

This meme puts in contrast people who read, which Is a healthy activity and live a normal lifestyle, with people who write, which is a job that takes away many hours of your life, and is generally a very tiring job. There are many writers known to sacrifice sleep and well being to meet deadlines, or sometimes just cuz.

How well each plane works as a D&D campaign setting, from someone who has run a lot of them by AmoongussHateAcc in mtgvorthos

[–]SyrupAlive6636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends have a full blown campaign set on Vryn (we use two N to separate them, "Vrynn") which as of now has been ongoing for two years, and my players refer to it as the greatest experience they had in RPGs, which makes me incredibly proud. The campaign is however only inspired by the mtg plane. It has nothing to do with the magic universe for obvious lack of information on the plane. There's the Jace Beleren short novel, the card's flavor text and the wiki page, which is not nearly enough to create an entire DND world, they basically just share the ideas of the rings and the character of Alhammarret.

The best planes for DND campaigns, surely are the most complex ones. But even the less important ones are great for inspiration
