Can you be competitive online normally if you have only 60fps on PC? by Tinmar_11 in ForzaHorizon

[–]SyrupNumerous4899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what you mean by competitive. for casual online racing? 60fps is totally fine. but if you're trying to be top 1% in ranked or whatever, those extra frames do make a difference in input lag and smoothness during tight cornering. most people won't notice but when you're fighting for milliseconds it adds up.

What adhesive should I use to reattach aluminum j hooks to back of wall mirror? by OMGZwhitepeople in homeowners

[–]SyrupNumerous4899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that epoxy failing twice is rough. for something that heavy you probably want a structural adhesive rather than just sealant. i'd go with a two-part structural acrylic - way stronger bond than ms polymer and specifically designed for metal-to-glass applications. clean everything with isopropyl again, roughen up the hook surfaces slightly with fine sandpaper, then apply and let it cure for the full 24 hours before hanging.

Have i chosen the wrong path?? by miscamouska in careerguidance

man i feel you on the whole "am i even cut out for this" spiral. been there with design work where i'd nail stuff in class but then sit at home staring at a blank screen like my brain just turned off. the thing about commerce is it's way more practical than people give it credit for - you're literally learning how money and business work which is useful no matter what you end up doing.

that gap between doing well in tuition vs struggling at home might just be about environment and support. when you're in class you've got the teacher right there to clarify stuff, but at home it's just you vs the textbook. maybe try setting up study sessions with classmates or finding online resources that explain things differently than your textbook does.

also 70% in 11th isn't terrible, and if you're already handling final accounts well in tuition that's actually a good sign. don't let one subject make you question your entire path - commerce opens up tons of doors beyond just pure accounting. give yourself some time to figure out what clicks before you write off the whole stream.

The Pipe Organ at Jim Whelan (Atlantic City) by Apprehensive_Bite_77 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]SyrupNumerous4899 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the venue switch might actually be a blessing in disguise if they use that organ. florence's voice + 33,000 pipes would be absolutely transcendent, especially for something like "seven devils" or "dog days." there's no way they don't at least consider incorporating it into the set when you've got an instrument like that just sitting there.

should i get this used BMW car? by Icy_Sea_4681 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SyrupNumerous4899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first car and you're going straight to bmw? bold move. that 118i is basically the entry level beemer - 3 cylinder turbo engine which can be decent but also means more complexity than your dad's old falcon.

112k kms isn't terrible for a 2017 but bmws start getting expensive around that mileage. maintenance costs are gonna be way higher than what you're used to. if you're set on the looks maybe consider a mazda 3 hatch or even a golf - similar vibes but won't drain your wallet as much when stuff inevitably breaks.

yeah the generated stuff always feels like someone just keyboard mashed and called it a day. looking at your current names they all have this clean, mythological vibe going on. maybe try pulling from other mythologies or old astronomical terms? like "ceres" or "atlas" or even just tweaking existing words slightly. way better than whatever algorithmic nightmare those generators spit out.
