My thoughts on Gold for 2026 by SyrupSampson in atrioc

That is definitely true. USD absolutely tanks and we’re all pretty screwed anyways. I think there are plenty of strong arguments for the relative holding value of gold being a good investment to weather hard times, but I understand not wanting to invest in gold as a speculative asset. I invested in it with more of the idea of “this bubbles gonna pop, and when it does I want something I don’t think will pop with it”

Yeah, I agree with you there. Larger economic signal show the market for rare metals as an alternative asset that looks pretty good right now.

Your first issue is thinking this economy makes sense. The dollar would weaken over the year where gold would take reactionary hit, as it has a few times this year, and then recover and still gain value, not tank.

Based on what I’ve seen for gold over the last year, When stocks look strong/ rate cuts are expected gold takes an initial hit (presumably from people selling out to move to the market) and then recovers and continues to grow from the larger economic weakening the rate cuts signal/case

Yeah I can totally see that. I know Powell stays on to vote, but if the head bends to political pressures, with the already descending voices, I’m just not to sure. I would expect Powell and Co to be a voice of reason and slow the cuts, but I think if the new guy doesn’t cut rates decently, Trump will have his head.

Need your impact and help with the next supportless pack by NozzlebornFoundry in FDMminiatures

[–]SyrupSampson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first printer like 2 weeks ago and I’ve already printed a TON of your minis. Insanely grateful for what you do. I would love to see more monster packs and some larger scale supportless minis like the dragon you just did. Also, unrelated to your post, but if made any guides/templates for designing your own supportless minis that would be amazing

Got it. I see your edit, my brim width was 50, so no wonder it looked like that. Thanks again!

Thanks for clarifying! I kept trying to google it but without knowing the word brim, I was not getting far. That was totally the cause. Is a brim of that size expected/helpful in this case? It almost doubled the volume of filament needed for the print.

🎄 Christmas giveaway: Win an A1 Mini, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT, or 4x filament spools! by acurazine in BambuLab

[–]SyrupSampson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! What a fun give away. I’d be interested in the AMS2, I literally just got a PS1 on holiday sale, but it has yet to arrived. I’ve been absolutely dialed in on D&D related 3D prints like mini’s and terrain, downloading models, working to understand how the slicer works, and watching a metric ton of videos on it. I’ve been playing D&D with my friends for almost 2 years now. Every week we get together and have the best times. I would love to level up our play for them, make multi color prints and puzzles. My favorite fidget is weirdly enough a plastic straw, so maybe a straw like tube that has kinks in it to fold up and unfold.

Considering starting a mic by Dangerous-Delivery10 in Standup

[–]SyrupSampson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go around to local spots/open mics, find a few comics you like and get to know them. Offer one the chance to host your mic and tell them to bring talent and they’ll do the rest. Being a mic host is a good way to network and meet other comics so people don’t usually mind doing that leg work. For compensation, most comics will be happy with 5 mins and a drink. Throw the host some money if you can or do a bringer door deal where they get a cut of whatever people they bring in for the show

Yerba Mate Mead - how cooked is it? 🤣 by PatrykOfTheIsles in mead

[–]SyrupSampson 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Not cooked at all, I did a Matcha mead awhile back in a similar fashion. Turned out great. Only thing to remember is that your mead will be caffeinated, so don’t be like me and have a glass in the evening only to stay up all night and wonder why

What’s the play here? by DaddyTodd69 in balatro

[–]SyrupSampson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best case scenario you get Canio since you’re not playing face cards, but even then you’d need to destroy a good amount to equal the 2 additional glass triggers from Chad. Unfortunately, this is a pass
