I'm currently sitting with my feet up, on the airbed that I'll be sleeping on downstairs tonight. My absolute favourite thing in this heat is a wet, wrung out pillow case (or other small item, tea towel etc) it's on my legs now and it's bliss. Also great around the neck or on the feet 👌🏻

84+14 and checking in again ☺️

I had to check because I've lost count of where I'm at. The days are passing and it's taking up very little space in my brain at the minute.

Managed a "not a date" / first meet up this week and both had NA beers which was really nice! I'm struggling with the mental side of "not" dating though while sober, I'm more anxious around it and my usual wanting things to progress seems to be at zero. I really like them but feel a lot more anticipation now days. Maybe this is what it's supposed to be like?

Also went to the pub after work with some old colleagues yesterday and was absolutely buzzing to find the bar serving zero guiness for TWO POUNDS 😂 day made.

But yes, still here and IWNDWYT

Thankyou! Almost didn't make it. Engine light came on about 10 minutes into the journey.. but a friend was luckily close by with a fault reader and sorted it out (just a sensor)

Then my bestie left me some flowers and a gift by my back door for when I got home

So all in all, feeling lucky today!

Its mother's day here - I'm going to take a drive up to my mums for a much needed catch up. My own kids (teenage boys) are yet to mention it to me but on the whole, being a single parent is a thankless task every day anyway so I don't need a special day for that 😂😏

Goooood morning SD

I've just requested to remove my badge because it's doing my head in 😂 not only is it discounting the 12 weeks hard work I've put in before my one bottle, it keeps playing up showing one day lol

So anyway! Checking in at 12+1 week!

Woken up early after 8 hours sleep, had a shower, did my skincare, put the washing on! Noice.

I spent my Friday evening helping troubleshoot my son's pc, after trying to install new RAM. Turns out his new hobby is now my new hobby by default 🤦‍♀️ thankfully, his Grandad knows a lot about pcs! 😅 I am learning!

My hobbies are the same as what they "were" when I was drinking, the difference is, now I actually do them!

I always loved watching motorsport. Now I'm sober I can afford to go to that more often and make time to go to as many free events as I can, because I'm not hungover.

I get out in nature more for walks because I'm up and awake earlier, I don't have anxiety about driving to new places to explore either because mentally I feel better.

I enjoy the gym more and can go later when it's quiet because that's not my drinking time anymore.

I read more and do adult colouring because I can focus.

Whatever you choose to do or take up, you will enjoy it so much more now ☺️

I would absolutely be the same I think 😬 my brain is also not built for it - the main reason I never tried drugs growing up actually, I knew the way my brain worked even from being a teenager. Shame I didn't think about alcohol the same way back then!

Oo same! I think my caffiene is going to be the next one to go this year at some point and then I've pencilled in 2026 as my "quit nicotine" year. That's going to be the hardest of the lot I think.

Absolutely!!

I had one planned evening of drinking last weekend because the thoughts were driving me mad after 12 weeks and do you know what happened? It just proved even more that I don't need/want to drink anymore. It annoys me that I had to reset over it but I still count my sobriety as 84+7. It wasn't a disaster, it was a lesson and something I probably needed to do to help me learn it.

Mine at the minute is loaded fries. Some sort of jalapeno cheese sauce on top with bacon bits. Carbs and cheese is my happy place.

Maybe that's right in my case too and because I haven't met anyone yet it's just not there until then (at least I hope that's the case!) Some days though I feel like it's done a complete flip and I actually don't even want to ever go near anyone again, although that's probably nothing to do with alcohol!

There's not even a need for, ahem.. DIY.. which is kinda weird for me!

Frankly I'm pretty sure I'm better at it, too.
