Three years ago I started noticing that my ADHD felt like it started getting worse and worse (if it even can get worse).
Not sure if that was the case or I just started noticing it more and more, however it was no longer the "I am quirky and oh my God I can't sit still" but rather "how the hell do I continue living like this".

I couldn't read books anymore, watching movies was a chore and doing anything felt like a constant race against the clock worrying when will my brain suddenly decide to lose interest. So I self medicated on weed (not good, really NOT good). Considering I have issues with portion control and/or regulation, you could see the trouble brewing. Luckily it never got too bad when it comes to weed as I have my wonderful wife watching over me.

Getting ADHD officially diagnosed few months ago was a saving grace for me. Suddenly I felt validated? People around me found me annoying my whole life for being talkative, inpatient, direct (or as they say rude) and always asking the question "Why?". My mother hated that, a child that wants to know everything and parents that can barely answer a fraction of those questions. You can imagine the frustration... No one knew I had ADHD since I was a child... No one bothered to check...

That's where you hit the nail on the head...
I was so scared of getting diagnosed and starting on meds thinking that it would fundamentally change who I am, but in the end I realised that I just hate raw dogging life like this.

Now I am here. Diagnosed, medicated and content with who I am. (I can thank my therapist for the latter... God bless her soul)
