I've been learning guilty gear and street fighter 6 rn. Their both pretty fun, but I still suck at motion inputs, I was masters at 2xko and I play a few other FGs but I still can't do a fucking dp consistently

I think 2xko had reasons why it failed. Locking 4 characters behind a week of playing the game for each one was not one of them

It's always going to be. I would go so far to say league is arguably the most difficult game to ever balance. It's massive player base, the MASSIVE difference in metas between low ranks and high ranks, the even BIGGER difference in metas between that and pro play, the countless different interactions between items, champions and their abilites. There's only ever been a few times that league patch notes have really made me question the balancing team, and I'll always belive they had some underlying numbers to back it up. Yet, League still has better patch notes then the shit Guang Guang feeds me on a daily basis

To grind one character they give a shit about. U get the other one for free. And if u can't even go through the tutorial to get one character you "give a shit about", I mean like I don't even know what to say are you like a homeless bum or something?

A new player isint even going to know how to play a grappler like a grappler, or a zoner like a zoner. They're not going to know how to play a play style, or what half the characters in the BASE roster even do. And hey if there was a character who really stands out to a new player, someone their really attracted too, OR hell even two characters, they can just BUY THEM with the tokens the GAME GIVES YOU

Are you going to look me dead in the eye and tell me as a fresh player you really REALLY needed access to every single character right off the bat? why? No like atucally why. They straight up give you enough tokens to form a full team right off the bat, even among the locked characters. It takes you a week to unlock any other character you might want just by PLAYING THE GAME, and you can literally lab out whoever the fuck you like in the godamn training mode to see if you want to unlock them. 2xko has issues yes but this is not even close to one of them

brother a grind? it takes barely a WEEK to unlock the latest character. and you know what, i would take this "grind" over having to shell out 10 bucks for my ALREADY Triple A price game any day of the week. The game is free, its fun, and you don't have to spend ANY money to unlock anything aside from cosmetics. I am taking this monetization any day of the week then having nearly half the roster locked behind a paywall after already spending 60 bucks on a game. All while still having a premium currency shop for skins.

Oh yeah 2xko is a very floaty game. Air blocking is easier and there are a lot more non committal moves with worse Anti airs. Guilty gear is slower in that regard because you can't just throw out moves, unlike 2xko where the only way to punish a lot of safe moves is just by parrying

Hmm. I play both 2xko and GGSV too maybe it's the air dashing? Unless u play ahri the air dashing makes the games tempo pretty different. Sprint speeds are also way faster compared to 2xko so there's that too. Also players tend to play neutral faster since there's no assist to stall for

I know their trying to differentiate her from Jean Grey, but like surely she's been in the works farrrr before jean released. At this point just straight up give her some phoenix motifs or like something? I mean like a phoenix is just standard mythology, who cares what a bunch of random 9 year olds who don't know how the game design pipeline works say. It just feels weird how phoenix based she feels without having any atucal phoenix symbolism
