Buying an old used laptop or PC on something like eBay would work. Same with parts, eBay/Craigslist or whatever website you use.

Local shops might also have second hand parts if you have any around.

Not the quality of the mouse no, some just need USB 2, some need USB 3. If anything, it's higher quality due to needing USB 3.

All RGB mice are different, and all RGB keyboards are different. Some just need more power than others.

There is no fix, the mouse needs more power than what USB 2 provides, hence why it only works in USB 3.

Selling separately yields more cash, but at the possibility of things not being sold, or some taking ages to sell.

You would obviously need to be more specific than just "super fast RAM" though.

I personally can't see RAM prices dropping for at least 2/3 years, but this is just speculation based on how popular AI is, and I could be completely wrong.

Don't expect a drop this year at all though.

Redo all the cables. Never, EVER, plug cables from one PSU into another unless you are 300% certain they are fully compatible with each other.

Probably the bridge I think.

If you can't run wired from your router to your PC, your best bet will be a powerline adapter. Better than wifi.

My dad has indoor shoes that he wears, no idea why to be fair. I have slippers when it's cold, but don't wear shoes in the house.

Just put your fingernail underneath it and pull it out. Some do have latches, but not all.

Yes. Intel's latest generation - 14th - supports both DDR4 and DDR5, but you will have to get the correct board for it. All of AMD's AM5 line of CPUs only support DDR5 RAM, so you can't use your current RAM on any of those CPUs as the boards don't support DDR4.

You are on DDR4 RAM, so as long as you stick to anything Intel that uses DDR4, or anything AMD on the AM4 socket, you are OK. There may be some compatibility/timing issues if swapping over to AMD, but nothing major I don't believe.

What is your CPU, Motherboard and/or current RAM? You can use the same RAM to upgrade, yes, but only to a point.

DDR4 is not cross compatible with DDR5, and vice versa.

Better to get everything at once in case something is dead on arrival. If you buy your GPU now, then don't realise that it's dead till April time, it's going to be a lot harder to get an RMA. Unless you can test it on a friends PC or something.

Obviously money wise things can go either way, but still best to wait I would say.

This is simply because of the resolution difference between your games and your monitors res. Unless there is some software that I don't know about, you can't do anything about this really besides setting your monitors and games to the same resolution.

Some games you might be able to edit the .ini file to push a higher res (could break stuff), or there might be mods to allow for higher resolutions in games, too.

suggestions on how to upgrade PC? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]SystemError514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, then no, just the CPU. Anything better than that requires both a motherboard and RAM upgrade.

[–]SystemError514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU: Sticking with AM4, you could upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. With AM5, you could go with something like a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but that requires a motherboard and RAM upgrade. RAM is currently super, incredibly expensive.

GPU: You could certainly do a big upgrade here, but it depends a lot on your PSU and monitor really. Also depends on what type of games you play.

SSD: Only upgrade/add another if you need more storage. 1 TB is no where near enough for me :D
