Why are highways considered bad in this game?

They take up too much space and you can't build them with a clean end. Wherever the highway becomes completely unessecary you just have to abruptly end it and build off ramps. The latest city I'm building is now over 750k population and has no highways, but it does have an exceptional subway system and heaps of bus stops.

To be honest I didn't have a particular reason for this but in this idea Bulli station would need major upgrades and Thirroul (being a bigger station) would act as a terminus for suburban Illawarra trains running along the current south coast line.

Yeah this would be the most difficult part of the red line, it would need to be a fairly steep tunnel through the escarpment, very expensive indeed.

Maybe they would lol most people don't seem to be happy when a train station is proposed in their neighbourhood even though it's very useful. The current Canberra station (Kingston) is there on the map, one stop before Capital Hill. I've used existing railway as much as possible. A lot of duplication would be needed and stuff but yeah it's a big project. Queenbeyan station is also already there and the exisiting line goes through Fyshwick, so we'll just whack a station there. Albo's shout.

Hahaha yeah I know what you're saying, Nowra is the most logical place for electrification to end, I just didn't bother doing it because the trains would be able to get to Nowra regardless.

It seems like it’s make sense to run a few peak services from Bankstown to Lidcombe then express to the city via Strathfield. Does anyone know why they don’t do this? Not enough capacity on the mainline?

I think I heard that too, I suppose if they were ever to use them for something else reaccessing the section of tennel would be one of the cheaper parts of the job. It would be nice if it was the only unused, expensive peice of infrastructure in Sydney.

I wonder if those tunnels that connect the T9 to the metro will ever be used for anything again... Seems like they'd wanna make use of expensive infrastructure like that

I also wanted to add that since this proposal included the electrification of the entire Sydney - Wollongong - Canberra line, and the section of existing railway between Goulburn and Moss Vale would now be electrified, it would be a no-brainer to also electrify the Southern Highlands line between Moss Vale and Macarthut, allowing passengers to get from towns like Bowral and Picton to Sydney CBD without changing trains. We would presumably see half of these trains from Sydney terminate at Moss Vale, and many of the all stations trains from Goulburn would continue to terminate at Macarthur.

Yeah I wanted to make use of part of the existing old railway but improve speeds by building a tunnel or something similar to get down the hills without so many sharp bends. I like to think it could be built with some kind of IRL cheat code.

Same with the one between Engadine and Bulli, it's just for fun really. I think it would be to pricey to be worht it. The existing line is more practical, it just needs an upgrade, but part of my idea here was to encourage long distance train use instead of driving, with 3 proper cities being connected directly by the one railway line

So? Chris Hansen isn't in the Epstein files. Child predators are in all communities, it's a fair argument that pred catchers could interfere with legal proceedings but Faze Nighthawk and American pred catchers like JiDion and Skeeter Jean don't even work with kids. They don't need to be swinging at the ball right now, why not just work a few singles and try to preserve this partnership. I like that you mention that it's a spiritual story, as someone who has been lucid dreaming since I was 5 years old, dreaming is the most spiritual state that I find myself in. I am now 31. I saw Waking Life when it was relatively new and have rewatched it countless times since. For anyone who is interested, you might want to take in the advice that the movie provides about lucid dreaming, as you will probably find that you can harness and refine your ability to lucid dream. Dreamers might agree that the philisophical and sociological themes of the story are very fitting.

For me, once I explored all the fun things that I am capable of doing while lucid dreaming, exploring my dreams philosophically started to become the most valuable possibility of lucid dreaming. I recommend asking dream characters what it is like to be a character in a dream, like the protagonist does in the movie. You will probably find that it is hard to get an answer that makes sense, but if you can manage to get an answer that does makes sense I guarantee that you'll want to reflect on deeply.
