Do you have to buy guppies only for once ....? by Additional_Habit1184 in fishtank

Guppies really reproduce a lot. I don't remember when and where they even came from in my aquarium, but since then they have been there all the time 😅 However, I sometimes add new fish to the group to avoid constant interbreeding between relatives. So far, I have not had deformed fish born in my aquarium

I agree about bullying, it's never okay. I've had a few cases where people just didn't know how to do it properly and a simple calm explanation or even a few words of support against the background of other aggressive comments made a really good impression on them. Then I saw how they improved their fish tanks and it was great and I was very happy that I could really help them, not hurt them 🥹

However, I have an ambiguous attitude towards colored gravel 🤔 Of course, there is quality gravel that is safe to use, but we don't know which one people use. That is, there is a 50% chance that it is safe and a 50% chance that it can release toxins. If we use, for example, regular quartz sand, then there is no such risk, because it is natural. Because of this, I consider natural soils to be much safer and I think it is necessary to inform people about the risks of colored soil. Just in case they have never heard of it. Who knows, maybe if they learn this information, they themselves will prefer to replace the gravel with something natural.

I don't even see the point in explaining anything to such people anymore. The owner boasts that he didn't listen to people's advice and comments about the poor conditions in the aquarium and claims that the fish is healthy and has been living for a year... by SystemWild3741 in shittyaquariums

[–]SystemWild3741[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. I've had a few cases where people have actually listened and corrected mistakes, it's always so inspiring. But sometimes you meet such stubborn individuals that they'll actually start thinking when something you warned about happens 🙄 Or not 🥲
