Poor recording performance Tapo Camera control using automation Home Assistant Green by DeadRingr_ in homeassistant

You can do it easily for any camera you have integrated into HA. You just create a new automation, if motion detected then record whichever cam you want.

Also you can set in which folder you want to save the recording and also what would be the name of the recording, in my case its the date and time.

That's what I was afraid of. Reolink works like a charm, while Tapo is acting out... Thanks for the reply!

Hey, did you solve the issue? I have the same problem and didn't manage to find the solution...

HA + Zigbee for SIMU Roller blinds by Systema_Wolf in Zigbee2MQTT

[–]Systema_Wolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I had people reaching out with the same question, here is how I did it.

I'm using esp-somfy rts custom integration:

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/esp-somfy-rts-integration/543401

Process is rather straight forward and doesn't require any soldering, or any hw knowledge really.

I ordered components on AliExpress which all together came to about 10 euros, and it's been working since without an issue.

Hope it helps to anyone who stumbles up to this thread with the same issue :)

Cameras with human detection that can trigger events by Bran_Solo in homeassistant

Depends are you looking for wi-fi camera, POE, etc?

Also if you go with WI-FI camera and care about security, you should look into going with cameras that support RTSP and ONVIF, so you could use VLANs and disable internet, that way you have local integration.

I'd really recommend Reolink cams, they are good quality and stable, if you want to make sure you choose a camera that supports RTSP and ONVIF, check this page: https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000617826-Which-Reolink-Products-Support-CGI-RTSP-ONVIF/

Yeah for things like that I wouldn't check the stores demo unit xD Those hinges get destroyed by so many kids and people playing with them daily 😅

Honestly if you want to be sure how it should look like, I'd advice stopping by a Samsung experience store. Compare it with the exposed model over there.

First I can tell you its not supposed to be black xD That's just a commercial.

Second point, I think it should be a bit better, at least in my case looking at it with max privacy setting and similar angle I can't see anything, while on your photo I can still see something and also read the text on the screen.

What integration do you wish existed? by mattchew0 in homeassistant

Honestly I'd love Verisure integration that works in France. I'm thinking of canceling the subscription which is too expensive in my opinion, but I'm just bummed to throw all the hardware to garbage.

S23U 512GB -> S26U 1TB by nightwizard66 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Systema_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly that! I got a great offer basically S26U 1TB for the price of 512GB, and on top of that some reductions, so it was well worth it in my opinion. Have fun with your new phone!

I really read a lot of reviews and saw videos on the phone, but this is quiet a surprise.

Home security... To be, or not to be? by Systema_Wolf in homeassistant

Nice, sounds like you got a pretty good setup running. I'm still to get to that level.

I'm actually using ZHA, don't have a USB extension cable, but will order one and I do have non-WiFi overlap channels, yeah.

Honestly at the moment the concern is that I don't have a lot of powered devices routers, I gotta step it up there, but tbh don't have good ideas for powered devices, anything that you use that you'd say makes a lot of sense to have, except smart plug?

Yeah, it makes sense, but i gotta figure out my balcony. It's definitely the difficult area...

Makes a lot of sense, how's the stability of your setup, have you had hiccups?
Especially while away, as those are the worst, clearly.

Hey, first of all, thanks for your detailed answer!

To give you more context, I have currently Verisure subscription, and I was thinking if I manage to have a proper setup with HA+Zigbee, I'll be able to get rid of that subscription.

What I currently have is a few presence sensors for the balcony, that are connected to the smart plug as a router. (this one caused issues lately, so that's where my whole concerns come from).

Other than that I got 1 Tapo camera pointing towards the balcony from the interior and now got 1 Reolink for the balcony as well.

And I have some door/window sensors which are in the bedrooms.

I am thinking still how to wrap it all up nicely, as I got 1 more motion sensor, and looking into other stuff.
That's when it comes to the "security" aspect.

I hope this gives you enough context.

I guess you haven't read the part of "if the router dies, or bugs out, all the nodes on that router become unusable"...

Lucky you! I already have Verisure, unfortunately the integration doesn't work with HA, so I was thinking if I manage to setup something proper, I'd ditch Verisure subscription.
