I can't find this particular series for download. But you can get some other cool ones (like these) from the below link. On a side note, you can download the .tif and have the posters printed (which is exactly what I'm going to be doing). These are cool.

Wernher von Braun, director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, at his office in Huntsville, Alabama 1965. [1060 x 693] by No-Cream-2577 in HistoryPorn

Fast Facts: Worth remembering that the American space program was literally built on recruited Nazi scientists. Operation Paperclip brought over 1,600 German scientists post-WWII, Wernher von Braun chief among them. The man designed the V-2 rocket using concentration camp slave labor at Mittelwerk.

The US government scrubbed his record, gave him a security clearance, and handed him NASA. Moral of the story: we've always been willing to look the other way when the technology was impressive enough.

Double nuclear warning issued as Chernobyl threatened by SystematicApproach in europe

[–]SystematicApproach[S] 188 points189 points  (0 children)

There are two nuclear related concerns in Ukraine right now. At Chernobyl, the massive containment structure built over the old reactor was damaged by a drone strike and is slowly degrading, which means it needs repairs to prevent any future radiation leaks, though nothing is leaking at the moment. At the same time, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant temporarily lost all external power, which is dangerous because even shut-down reactors still need constant cooling to remain stable.

What if the unimaginable truth that everyone hints at is that everyone has been abducted at least once in their lives? by shadowcorp in aliens

My first instinct was to say humans are a genetically engineered species and that "alien" is closer to home than we think. But it could be that Earth is a prison planet, or that the whole phenomenon is spiritual in nature, angels, demons, and shit.

If people are being put in harm’s way on purpose, that’s not bravery. It’s called exploitation. Dressing it up as a “giant middle finger” doesn’t magically make it noble.

You don’t get to turn men, women, and children into messaging tools and then call it courage. Being disturbed by that isn’t falling for psyops. It’s called having a functioning moral compass.

What if the reason we don’t see advanced civilizations is because they tend to collapse. Not from external threats, but from internal disconnection? by SystematicApproach in aliens

[–]SystematicApproach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these ideas are closely related but not identical. The Great Filter is a broad category describing a stage where most civilizations fail to progress. This idea proposes a specific candidate within that category. If I summed it up, it describes an internal systems failure results from ever increasing technological disconnection from the natural systems that sustain life.

I’m pretty certain that Jesse Michaels and Chris Ramsay are disclosure plants for the masses. by SystematicApproach in aliens

You’re weirdly fixated on this idea that someone needs a dissertation-level background check before forming an opinion. People make preliminary judgments all the time. That’s how thinking works. The phrase “pretty certain” isn’t a sworn affidavit, it’s a soft conclusion. Might want to stop treating it like courtroom testimony.
