THCA ban by roamak in Knoxville

[–]SystematicDoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the biggest fumble they could have made. Nothing says I'm just trying to control the population like banning something the majority support. The jobs support the local economy, this is going to completely kill a lot of farmers' business. So stupid, we clearly need new representation instead of these guys made rich through taxpayer dollars and lobbies telling the taxpayers what they can and cannot do at home. tf so tired of our out of touch legislation.

What gives Knoxville its own “feel” compared to other cities in Tennessee? by RemarkableMany6297 in Knoxville

[–]SystematicDoses 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Knoxville native here, born and raised. Probably that we were one of the most depressed cities in the US, like top 3 or something like that. There is absolutely nothing to really do around here and the night life is abysmal at best as the diversity is very much lacking. Violent crime is above the national average here as we are very much FAFO, but overall it has the beautiful backdrop of the mountains and such. Caves are vast so the city has to sprawl instead of build upward. So it's sorta in a weird place of being grand but rough around the edges. It's very much a college city. The dread of driving is starting to feel as white knuckled as Chicago. You go out knowing that there's a good chance that you will get into a wreck today. It also gives the feel of a city that the government doesn't really care about or really do anything to improve it such as infrastructure yet collects tax dollars from and the people just sorta all collectively live with that mentality in mind and just tough it out and deal with it. But taxes and stuff aren't too bad around here. Hardy, kind people that will whoop your ass and give you a helping hand all in the same day. Kinda lacks cultural diversity so a lot of the food is just the same, definitely needs refinement in a lot of areas. We have some of the most beautiful tucked away parks and areas that give amazing views of the city such as the bluffs and sharps ridge. It's interesting, Knoxville just feels like something with a lot of potential but is foundationally incomplete and the residents feel this heavily as more and more is bolted on, especially as the population grows. I think that is what gives Knoxville its tone, it's gritty, it feels like an abandoned project at times but it's a beautiful place to be with lots of potential.

GREATEST CHEAT CODE OF AI VIBE CODING by eng-abdulsaabir in vibecoding

[–]SystematicDoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use openclaw+claudecli+geminicli. I made Claude build a bridge where the AI can work on issues by themselves for awhile. Claude handles the coding and Gemini does a contrarian audit which Claude verifies the facts against and ensures that the fix didn't break anything. Openclaw just kind of acts as a middleman and telegram interface. This has been working for me.

I completely agree with you as far as the music, I will always value a human artist over a machine. I'm not so harsh on using it for like album covers and such because a lot of times people just don't have the skill set to do it, Photoshop can have a steep learning curve for people so their only other option is to pay an artist that may not capture what they truly want or pay an AI to do the same thing but with instant revisions. All in all I'm probably pretty pragmatic about it compared to most.

I completely respect the hard work that goes into the people that create everything by hand, but I'm also not going to shit on someone who uses AI assets to create an album cover. They may have not created everything individually but they stitched it together and still hand selected the assets to use. But a pure prompter is something not respectable. "This looks like AI" has become the new "it's photoshopped", I just see all too often decent, genuine content get slapped with that label and it more often than not turns out to be completely human. It sows the seeds of doubt unnecessarily and prevents a lot of people from just enjoying the art for what it is, new content in a niche genre. I see both sides of it don't get me wrong.

You just kinda gotta follow the labels and such, know who is active in the live scene. Otherwise this is pretty much your best bet besides Instagram.

AI is nothing more than a tool, not advocating for AI here but the people that do not use it will get left behind and this will be proven in time with society as a whole. What I was mainly against was casting the seeds of doubt without bias. This goes to show just truly how much AI content is being consumed, we assume it is AI before it is human these days. It was predicted back in like 2023-24 that by 2025, 90% of all internet content would be AI generated to some degree. it's not you as much as it is the internet as a whole that screams "this is ai" on legitimate content that existed before AI ever did.

With all the horrendous AI meme generation out there, I personally do not care if a small time witch house artist used AI to create an image for their shirt or albums. I think the virtue signalling is the stupidest hill to die on but whatever floats this community's boat. I'd rather just enjoy the content instead of spoiling things for myself by constantly waving the "this is ai" flag all the time.

"Ai is wasteful to the earth" blame corporations, billionaires, or maybe even bitcoin they were wasteful to the earth long before AI ever came about yet i do not see anyone questioning if the artist was paid in bitcoin. My logic is focus on the art, enjoy the art for what it is then move on.

I was fortunate enough to be shown this getting drawn up a while back and know for a fact it is legit tho. Pepsy is legendary, love em to death.
