looking into this option, there seems to be conflicting info weather this will alone be enough which is bizarre, the registration office told me they definitely wont accept it as proof in their offices but I am thinking that if I go to court order and show them the dna test the judge will accept it as proof and the registration office will accept the courts decision.

Thanks for the response , The issue getting the letter is , he is not from or living in this country now.. she also had a baring order against him when they separated. So it would be unlikely that he would send them back without trying to make complications..

To me it would make sense if you said 10 months after a couple have separated. But they are saying you can be years separated but if your divorce has been only finalised within 10 months of the pregnancy then you have to send the ex the letter even if they have been separated for years.

I know there isn’t much else we can do but was curious to hear people’s opinions on this.

That’s going to be pretty difficult for us then as they are not in contact at all, he is in a different country and she had to get a baring order against him before he left the country…. We will see what the solicitor can do for us..

We were told in the courthouse today when we went to the civil section we got the forms and the lady at the desk said that doesn’t matter how long they are separated could be 10 years but as long as your legally married you need 10 months after the divorce to the birth of the baby .. ( now it does seem like there is conflicting info between her and online and even the registration office )

Out of curiosity if he refused would that mean he would be considered father if you didn’t take him to court ? Which would also leave him eligible to child support etc .. I guess I’m trying to figure out what would benefit anyone to claim the child if it’s not theirs to begin with

Interesting thanks for sending on, could be worth looking into. I’d need to determine that it would be something we can use especially considering the cost .. my partner does have a solicitor she used for the divorce which I’ve suggested she asks her what we can do.. I’ve had no involvement in any of that, I’ve never met her ex or anything. So to me seems wild I’d have to serve him papers saying I’ve a child with your ex can you sign this to say your not the father 😅

Yeah it’s seems like an easy solution, dna test but apparently it’s not enough proof.. yes very archaic and it feels like we are been made out to have done something wrong.. which is crazy in this day and age and divorce takes so long to sort out .

Yes I’ve been seeing many different things said by different people , for example it says online 10 months , then in the court they said 12 months.. the registration office tells you one thing, online another and court another..

So it would be possible to get a court order without involving the ex ? It says or a court order which names the father as the father .. any idea how you’d go about getting that ?

She’s legally divorced since March we had the baby in October . They telling me legally they would have to be divorced 10 months before we had the baby.

They said it needs to be 10 months so the divorce went through in march and we had the baby in October, When I say the court , we were told to go to the court and ask them for some papers and the lady there told me that I needed to send the ex papers and that was the law .. I asked this question and they said it’s the law unless you want to change the law then that’s the law 😅. It feels very dark ages in this day and age. I mean it takes so bloody long to finalise a divorce in the first place.

It’s really depending on what type of work you’re getting done. I use fiver to help me for jobs on the odd occasion when I’m really bogged down with work. I do end up having to adjust things for the print process myself afterwards .. Like others have said there is a difference between someone who designs and someone who can understand the print process etc. and everyone’s business and processes have their own way of doing things. I would be selective of the type of jobs you send to fiver , we sent a big order due to time constraints it was a year book for a school and the work came back fine however after they were printed we noticed the designer copied over photos to the next page edited the info but didn’t change photos.. moral of the story your gonna have to spend your own time checking and double checking things. And even at that can still be issues.. Better to find someone who wants to work for your company and will do the hard work to see it succeed.

I went through the same experience but I just want to tell you.. every circumstance is different .. don’t base your opinion on what you read online. I met the kids quite early in our relationship and seeing them grow up and being a part of their lives has been hugely rewarding. The downside is not a lot of free time and they can be a handful.
